  1. Hey all! Just wanted to give a heads up to those of you who haven't checked your webCT. Our A&P Professor wrote to us saying that we'll need to purchase the Netter's Atlas to Human Anatomy. She said we could purchase either edition 4, which is the old one, or the new one edition 5! The only difference is that edition 5 brings an interactive CD which she says is really good to use. She'll be giving us handouts that coincide with edition 5, but will be providing (its actually already provided online) the conversion as to what it would be on edition 4; the pages where things would be located. SUPER HELPFUL! So shes really giving us a free space to roam on what edition you'd like to get, or might already have! :) She also said for us to get is asap because as soon as we first meet with her, Sep 13th, she'll be referring to it (I believe). Woot! Another book to buy and homework to do! lol So much for having a couple days off until school. lol Welcome to reality for the next 27 months! :)
  2. Our support coordinator said that if you don't have a schedule yet, that you should see one between the 17th-23rd. If you are worried you should call but thats what I was told.
  3. @NurseKitty2013 I'm trying to follow the instructions you gave as to seeing your schedule but its not working for me. I'm logging into Webstar, then Students and I don't have an option for 'detailed schedule'. Is there any other way you're aware of? Also to all my Baptist Scholars: I have a question in regards to the "Title IV Federal Financial Aid Funds' form. This form was listed for me on the 'financial aids' tab for NOVA. I wanted to know what most of you chose. Either to let NOVA take the funds or not. Since we have a scholarship I'm assuming everything gets covered (of course not books or uniform); anything 'educational'. Please let me know what you guys put!!!!!
  4. @ kpham The uniforms they have at the bookstore are not the same ones online. The ones at the bookstore are 'unisex' so they fit weird for women since they're meant to fit both men and women. The ones online have certain kinds for men and for women so they fit right. What you could do, just to make sure you get the right size, is go to a uniform store in your area that sell 'Cherokee' brand uniforms and try them on. Thats what my boyfriend and I did, and let me tell you...I'm glad we did, if not we would have bough they wrong ones. In regular clothing I'm usually a S/M and the size I had to get for the women's tops (which are different from the men's one) is a XS. They run big. And the pants I had to get them Petite S. I'm real short with big thighs, LOL, so I had to accommodate. And the women's pants are awesome because they have the regular drawstring pants which not most people like, and then you have the elastic band ones, and theeeeeeen you have one that has BOTH! That's the one that fit me best; drawstring elastic flare pants! :) I really encourage you to go somewhere and try them on! I decided to buy 3 tops and 2 bottoms because once I have the colour in front of me I'm going to purchase another set of pants at the uniform store since they're pricey online. Hope this helped! Let me know if you need any other information!
  5. thanks for the pda information. i have a metro and have had it forever! so i was stressing out on having to get a new phone but like you said, you could just get an itouch! :) my friend is attending the nursing program already, a semester or two ahead, and she said that its alright if the shoes have a little silver. that they wont freak out, just that the majority of the colour must be white; nothing hot pink or purple. as for the uniforms, instead of busting a mission, i think i'm just gonna buy the tops at nova =\ and go to a warehouse in doral that sell cherokee uniforms to buy the bottoms. blaaah, i really liked the dickie ones. lol but who careeees! as for the books, i've already got my apa and human physiology book, and am currently waiting to buy the dimensional analysis for med. again, my friend goes there already and she told me those are the most important books to get; also the test taking one. she said that the dimensional analysis book is a book we'll use for the majority of our 2 years at nova because its out math book, so don't rent the book guys! it'll just be money wasted when you'll end up buying it in the end. question: i know you guys are mentioning the g shock as a good watch, but are there any specifics as to if it has to be a digital watch or a regular watch with the minute and hour hands? because i'm prestige medical.com and all the watches they have there have hands, but the g shock is digital. if you guys know, let me knowwwww
  6. UGH. I feel so out of it. All this information you guys are staying, I feel like I had no idea about. I've been looking at the web page, but I guess since there is so much information I just dont SEE anything. So let me ask: The shoes have to be white? I was planning on wearing all black Nike's but after reading everyone's response, I might be wrong! haha. Let me know. And also, does anyone know if we're going to need the PDA soon? Like in the first semester? I know they make you buy one but around when will it be needed? I don't want to invest money at the moment on something I'll need later on LMK ladies (and gents) And as for orientation, I'm either going with my brother or my dad, or BOTH! ^_^ And about the uniforms: my mom told me about a Dickie's outlet by my house (which is by Dolphin & International Mall) that they sell nursing uniformed. But after reading here, I guess they wont all be the same colours ! My friend is currently in the nursing program and she sent me pictures of her wearing them, and they look like the teal/turquoise Dickie's has. If anyone has compared them let me know. And let me know which are the brands and colours that match the ones at Nova. I really don't want to make a trip over there, but I have a feeling I'm going to have to. I'm really short and always need my pants hemmed thats why I need to get 'em SOON! After reading your posts and the person who got the XXS, I want to get those but want to try 'em on first. I'm like a S or M in regular tops, but in the Dickie's I tried on yesterday I'm a M. :x So they must run really really big. WOO!
  7. THANK YOU SO MUCH! I have been going crazy looking for it and it has literally been under my nose the whole time :) And just to double check, the scrubs are teal right? Not like an aqua-teal? More green? Thankssss!
  8. Hey ladies! Could you please inform me on the list of books? I'm totally lost about the books and every time I call they tell me to just wait until Orientation, but I dont want to wait until last minute. Please let me know!
