  1. I just called the Houston center and she told me they sent out few packets earlier this week and the rest they'll send out when Denton gives them the list of admitted students. I guess the list comes in sections... she told me the advising appointment (it's mandatory) is on May 6 from 8:00AM-2:00PM... I'm guessing that's just an open time block. I feel like that's last minute notice.. seeing how it's basically May and that only gives you a week left to get to Houston :/. I also have finals that following week. I can see if I can fly down there for a few hours and then come back.
  2. I have yet to hear from UTMB. They keep telling me my app. is complete... and has been since January. It doesn't really matter, though, because I've already found out from my top 2 choices and will most likely be going there. Congratulations to the people who have been accepted! Good luck!
  3. I haven't received anything yet, either... I live in North Texas and will most likely be moving to the medical district. Is orientation in Houston or in Denton? Also, if you already took Patho and Pharm can you get credit for it? The school I currently attend requires it as a pre-requisite. Thank you!
  4. Does anyone know what the class schedule is for TWU Houston?
  5. I got my acceptance letter to Houston yesterday, too!
  6. Thanks! Yeah I saw your post... but I just assumed they had it because I submitted it through ATI. I called the Enrollment Services office last week to see the status of my app. but they said it was under review right now. They've been telling me that since February. I will contact *****, though, just to double check. Thanks! :)
  7. Thanks! The other thing that worries me, though, is that I submitted my application the 2nd week of January... I got a confirmation e-mail and everything. :/
  8. I'm a little worried now... it's already mid-April. If they only have 120 seats and a lot of you guys have been accepted by now, I'm sure my chance is really low. Does anyone know when they'll send out waitlist/ rejection letters? Is the end of April or early May? My overall GPA is 3.54 and my science GPA is 3.5... I made a 87 on the TEAS.
  9. Wow... talk about a lot of forms! haha... so the only one that's really due asap is the acceptance/ rejection of the seat you're offered right? All the other forms-- code of conduct, immunization, scholarship, and etc. are due later? I know the scholarship one is due on April 27th... just double checking! Thanks!
  10. I'm actually going to decline Midwestern... I'm waiting to hear back from 2 other schools, but even that there's another school that I got into a while back and that was one of my top choices. The deadline is April 29th, right? Good luck everyone!
  11. I misread your post... sorry! Congratulations on getting accepted! It's pretty competitive since most of the seats go to the TCU students and only a small amount are open for transfer students... that's something to be proud of! :)
  12. So I called... and they said they're reviewing my application right now. I wonder if they don't do in order of priority? Like the first round of interviews weren't sent because those people had top priority... at least that's what I'm guessing. Because a lot of y'all have said you have really good scores but you didn't get your interview till way later... I guess we all just gotta be patient, haha. Even if we don't agree with their process.
  13. Are you already a student at TCU? I thought you guys don't have to apply to your nursing school... you "automatically" get in? And congratulations, by the way!!!
  14. I got my letter yesterday, as well. I got into the program... but MSU is not one of my top choices... I'm still waiting until the end of the month to hear back from other schools. I know we have to reply by April 27th but does anyone know if you still say yes, can you reject them after the 27th?
  15. PAMQ replied to aamon1's topic in Texas Nursing
I asked the adviser the other day, and was told May 1st
  16. No, I got put on the wait-list. The thing with TCU is that the students who are already at TCU and are Nursing intended majors "automatically" get into the Harris College of Nursing. They don't have to apply... I know a few private schools that have the same policy... so that only leaves an X amount of seats for transfer students. I applied to 6 schools and all are in Texas. I've only been accepted by one so far and I'm still waiting to hear back from the others... which should be by late April/ early May. Let us know when you hear back! And good luck everyone!!!
  17. Did you not apply to other nursing programs? If not, then yes I'd just transfer to TCU and then apply for the Spring term. Keep in mind that there are certain rules to declare your major as Nursing as a TCU student. This is from their site: Change of Major A TCU student may change to the nursing major if the student is not on academic warning or probation and has or can reasonably expect to have a 2.5 TCU cumulative GPA by the time the student is ready to enroll in courses limited to the nursing major. Student should file an intent to enroll in first practicum courses by October 1 for the spring semester and February 1 for the fall semester. Forms are available in the Harris College of Nursing administrative office. Permission to enroll in practicum courses is determined by the availability of clinical placement slots in clinical facilities. The student must meet the requirements for graduation based upon the published TCU Bulletin at the time of entry into the major. So if you do decide to transfer to TCU just make sure you get it done by October 1st... and then you can start in the Spring.
  18. No I don't have that... then again I didn't use the NursingCAS for UTMB. Maybe that's just for the Admissions Office's to see. If you were missing anything, they would have already of contacted you and obviously, it's too late for that. I'm sure you're fine!
  19. 92 on the HESI and my nursing GPA is 3.48, too. My overall GPA is a 2.99 (I was a Biology major before).
  20. Oh, okay. Thank you! Was TCU the only school you applied to? Well at least you're doing something about it and are not giving up and improving your GPA. :) I just checked my mail... I'm put on the wait-list :/
  21. Does TCU only look at the pre-reqs to determine your GPA? I thought overall GPA wasn't looked at... I have the same issue. I was a Biology major and it didn't go to well with Calculus and Chemistry... I'm nervous too!
  22. Congratulations! I'm still waiting to hear back from TWU... I know they already sent out letters of acceptances but they're not telling people who haven't heard anything if they're rejected/ wait-listed... I think we will know all of that in late April... probably after they give the wait-listed people acceptances from the people who decline TWU. Did you apply to TWU Dallas or Houston?
  23. Well mines not as high, but close... I also haven't heard anything yet. I know I've said this a billion times, but it's bothering me that I haven't been called for an interview for UTMB. They don't even email people to let them know if they've been rejected, yet. I think they do know who they want to accept and who they want to put on the wait list. Maybe their applications/ interview rounds aren't arranged by priority? I'm just judging that based on what other people have been saying about UTMB's process. Also, does anyone know if in order to be accepted you have to have an interview? Are people still accepted without interviews? Just wondering.
  24. Oh okay... yeah I don't go to TWU, I go to another university. Thanks! That clarifies what the bump means, haha.
  25. Well you have to keep in mind that the student who already go to TCU are automatically accepted into their nursing program because they don't have to apply separately... that only leaves an X amount of seats open for "transfer" students. They'll probably be taking students with the highest GPAs and highest HESI scores... and don't give up! *nurse2be* do you go to UTA? If so, that gives you additional consideration for their nursing program. Good luck everyone! I haven't received my mail today... but when I do I'll let you guys know. Also, what other schools have you all applied to?
