Hello, everyone My name is Nina and I just graduated from the NCP program and will be leaving for ODS in August. ODS is the 5 week officer training in Rhode Island. I was wondering if anyone has went before and can tell me what to expect. Like what you can take with you, what you need to know before going, whats an everyday routine like, just everything and anything you can tell me... Thanks really appreciate it!!

Camp lejuene new grad first duty station
Well that is good to hear and quite a relief. Honestly my biggest concern was the comradery amongst the staff but it is good to know that it seems that it's positive. I've heard the base is very nice, I will look into emerald isle but have you heard of arlington west apartment?

Camp lejuene new grad first duty station
Hello everyone. I am a new grad nurse recently graduating from ODU nursing program. I was in the navy NCP program and my first duty station will be camp lejuene. I was just hoping someone would have some information about the base, the people, the hospital, etc. I no its a small facility but if anyone has ever worked there and has info to share it would be greatly appreciated!!! Thank you!!!!

Thinking about Air Force nursing
say for instance I'm living with someone..the only way for him to go wherever I go is if were married right? Alo if you live off base is that you live in your own apartment or house or are you sharing a space?
-
Thinking about Air Force nursing
so I would most likely be off base...also do you know anything bout going in if you have a significant other...
-
Thinking about Air Force nursing
I actually would rather be on ground thats why I was asking. Do you know if you are an officer when you enter after doing the ncp if you have to live on base or do you have the option to live off base and get the stipen for housing and food

Thinking about Air Force nursing
also with the navy..as a nurse is your work place on a ship and are you living on a ship and is it docked near land or what?
-
Thinking about Air Force nursing
so i have also heard that as an officer you get more say so in where you want to be stationed? because coming in after graduation i would be an officer. and also i was wondering (i dont know if you know this answer) but going into the airforce for example i would be an officer and say my spouse joined with me but would be a enlistee is that okay and do they keep you together

Thinking about Air Force nursing
That does sould good money wise...but I think my biggest concern is what your day is like more so..like hows it going to go once your in there...Do you just work in a hospital on base...what is your workload like..how long are your shifts?

Thinking about Air Force nursing
So in the air force do you have the sam amount of patients as if you were a civilian nurse?

Thinking about Air Force nursing
Im a little confused 34k for two years is that like loan payback? And your saying when you sign up you agree to give them 5 years and for 4 of those years you get 24k like bonuses or something....and do you happen to no any good recruiters or just someone I could contact to get more details? I really wanna check all my options before I make my decision

Thinking about Air Force nursing
Hello my name is nina and I'm a junior in college majoring in nursing. I was just wondering if it was any nurses out there who have actually gone through the process and can give some feedback. I have so many question and wanted to try and get some info outside of a recruiter. Some of my questions are as followed... 1. What are the steps in doing the nursing transition program, I know you go off and do your training and then a 10 week clinical I think? How was that? 2. What is an adverage day like as a nurse in the Air force. I know alot of times as a civilian they say nurses are overworked and underpaid, is it the same in the air force? 3. Do they have any field of nursing in the Air force? I was looking toward pediatrics or neo natal 4. Do you get deplowed often? 5. How does the paying off you school loans work and how many years are you required? I am very interested in joining but I just want to get all the information first. THanks if you can help!!!
