  1. Which specialty for most flexibility

    I'm looking for some expert advice with regard to my career choice. I'm currently an ACNP student at the Univ of Penn and am having second thoughts about how flexible a career as an ACNP truly is. We're expecting our third child any day now and I will essentially have three children under three years of age. My ideal work scenario is to work 3-4 days/week. I enjoy the flexibility shift work affords me. Question: Which NP specialty will give me the greatest opportunity to work on a part time basis, FNP or ACNP? As far as a career in the ED, do you find that FNP's or ACNP's are hired in that setting? Thanks in advance for your advice!!
