New Telemetry Nurse TIPS
Hello everyone. I am a new nurse and got hired on a telemetry unit. What are essential items for my upcoming shifts (pens, small note pads, etc)? Also, I would love any tips on time management, prioritization and just tips in general would be greatly appreciated. Anything helpful you believe that could be helpful for a new nurse that is. Thanks in advance !

Getting Pregnant during an ABSN Program? Great idea? Or huge mistake?
Didn't do an ABSN, but I did find out I was 2 months pregnant right before my last semester. Needless to say it has its challenges, but its doable. I also maintained a FULL-TIME job during this period as well. Graduated 6 months pregnant, took off a few months off to enjoy being a new mommy, sat for NCLEX & passed in 75 questions on the first attempt. Only you know what you can handle. Good Luck !

Loyola University (New Orleans) BSN-DNP Program - May 2017
Congrats to both of you on your acceptances. I inquired about the program last month. Thinking about applying next years as I have just graduated and will start my first job next week.

NCLEX prioritizing questions
I used U-world, LaCharity & listened to Mark Klimek Audios. The audios totally helped bring everything together for me. I did this 3 days before I tested & passed with 75 questions the first time. Good Luck, you can do this !

NNP, PNP, FNP
Run the floor meaning gaining experience on the hospital floor before applying for the program. As a new nurse, I believe I could benefit from the experience instead of going straight into the program.

NNP, PNP, FNP
Hello everyone, I'm a SUPER new nurse and wanted to start looking into NP programs already. Each program has different requirements and I wanted to pick about 3 to 4 programs I felt would be best for me and focus on making sure I am the strongest applicant when I submit the application to the program. I do plan to run the floor about 1 to 2 year minimum before doing such. My problem comes in at, no knowing what exactly what type of NP I want to be. I know I either want to do Neonatal or Peds. I absolutely love CHILDREN & I've always known that I was meant to help them. My question being is there a way I could do both? Someone suggested becoming a FNP & getting certified in those areas. Is this possible? Also, what can I do as far as studying in my free time to make sure I stay up on current topics, disease processes, medications, etc. Lastly, what certifications can I get now as an RN to help with my overall goal of becoming an NP? Thank you n advance to everyone who responds. I appreciate your input.

ASU or UNLV [?]
Hello everyone. I'm a pre-nursing major and I'm thinking about transferring to either ASU's or UNLV's BSN program. As of rite now ASU advisors are being a lot more helpful when it comes to information about the pre-reqs. I plan on visiting both campuses though. I'm just curious as to what everyone else's opinions on the two BSN programs are. Which is a better school? Who's test scores are higher???
