Tips for Allergy Clinic Interview?!
I am trying to land a job at an allergy clinic for a phone triage/insurance information position. What kinds of things should I study up on for the interview? I have never worked in this role before (I've only done inpatient care and home care).

I want to leave nursing....now what do I do?!
I am at the point where I will even work for minimum wage if it means I can be satisfied with my job and not feel that feeling of impending doom when I think about work. Again the problem is they want someone with related experience and they don't see nursing as related experience. Even though, as nurses, we pretty much do anything and everything :/

I want to leave nursing....now what do I do?!
Thanks for all the helpful comments everyone! I am definitely having trouble figuring out what I want to do. Any job postings I find interesting all require someone who has had at least 2 years experience in that type of position, so it's difficult so far. I'm kind of freaking out, but trying hard not to! I may have to look in to the career counseling tip and revamp my resume so it's not so much nursing focused and more "hey look at my ability to multitask and handle life/death situations, doctors throwing tantrums, disgruntled family members, catty coworkers, and an added bonus-- my nose is pretty much immune to the smell of feces!!". But seriously, it's really hard to finally say out loud "nursing just isn't for me" since I worked so hard for the degree and spent so much time and energy on nursing. You live and you learn, right?

Home Care Orders.....I need help!
Ok, so I've decided to bite the bullet and go ahead and quit. I feel really bad about not giving them notice, but you guys are right-I need to get out as soon as I can. I'm going to do it over the phone and then mail a letter of resignation. I know this is not ideal, but no part of this situation is ideal. I am ready to be done with it and not feel slimy anymore. Thanks for everyone's posts and comments. I'll re-post afterwords and let you all know how it went. Fingers crossed! x -_- x

I want to leave nursing....now what do I do?!
I have been a nurse for 6 years and in that time I've tried medical, oncology, labor and delivery, outpatient pediatrics, home care, QA.....the list goes on. I have come to the conclusion that I should have listened to all those doubts I had while I was in nursing school, but I figured, "Hey, I'm already this far and things will get better when I graduate and begin work." Nope. Nursing is definitely not the profession for me. I don't have any other skills or talents to offer though. How do I make my nursing resume appealing to non-nursing jobs and what kinds of jobs can I do? My BSN degree is useless outside of the nursing world! Anyone out there have any ideas for me?

Home Care Orders.....I need help!
So if I quit without giving them 2 weeks notice, can they refuse to give me my paycheck? Also, am I, as a nurse, under any obligation to report the things I've seen......if so, who do I go to?

Home Care Orders.....I need help!
I have only worked there a total of 8 business days.........what do I even tell them? "umm, you guys are shady and I don't want to get caught up in this risky business?" I'm just feeling so sick about this whole situation! I'm glad that you both agree with me and that it's not just me overreacting though :/

Home Care Orders.....I need help!
Hi all! I'm new to this so please bear with me! I just started working as a QA nurse at a small home care agency. They are asking me to do things I'm not sure I am legally able to do. I am an RN, BSN. They are asking me to make changes in charts for patients I have never seen. I told them I would not, they have not asked me to do this again since I refused. They are asking me to sign off and write orders for admitting patients to home care. I am to write these orders by basically copying old orders (for patients that we've had before). I am not taking the verbal order from the physician myself, the physician tells the clerk who they want home care to see, then the clerk tells me and I am to rewrite new orders based off of the old orders (most patients are repeat patients). I never actually hear any of this from the doctor. Is this ok for me to do? I feel like if it's going to be a verbal order, I need to be speaking with the doctor, not getting the order from the clerk who got it from the doctor. At the other home care agency I worked at, the doctors would write their own orders and fax it to the office, so this new method seems weird to me Another part of the reason I am suspicious of this company is that I heard the clerk was photocopying nurse signatures and copying them onto missed visit notes to maintain compliance for visit frequency. And I know the director of nursing is writing in charts of patients she has not seen herself. I worked too hard for my license to lose it. Can anyone out there help me?!
