  1. Hello, I'm a current nurse midwifery student at NYU, and from what we have been told is that we cannot sit on the actual WHNP board. But we can apply to be licensed as WHNP. The director of the nurse midwifery program need to write a letter on your behalf to the WHNP certification board showing that you have met all the requirements to be licensed as a WHNP. Hope this helps!
  2. Sorry haven't been on here in a while, been busy with the holidays and planning my wedding, but Congrats!!! I received mine too!! Woohoo....
  3. Hi MelitaRN, No I haven't received anything yet. She had also told me that the paperwork was being handed over to another person for processing. She had mentioned that the person would be out for a week, but not to worry that I should receive it soon. Hopefully we get it this week!! Although she said I would be getting an acceptance letter, I'm not celebrating until it's officially in my hands. I'll let you know when I receive it! Congrats to you!!!
  4. Hi, Yes, I did hear back I sent in my application on nov.15th, and I heard back from her on 22nd ( a week after), and I interviewed with her on 29th. She's really nice. Hope your interview goes well... Good Luck!
  5. Have you heard anything back? do they do interviews? Good luck!!
  6. Hello, I wanted to get some feedback from students who are or have gone through the nurse-midwifery program at NYU. I'm looking at applying to NYU, and would love to hear what students/midwives think of the program. Also was it easy to find a job after graduating? Thanks!
  7. Most hospitals in the NYC area want you to have a BSN. I think that even if you have an associate + experience, it might still be hard to get a job. But since they are also looking for experience nurses, you may have a better chance then a new grad with a ADN. Good luck... let me know how it goes.
  8. Hey, No update so far. I have gone to many open interviews and have applied to positions online but have not heard anything. I'm currently looking at home care and visiting Nurses ( but their new grad program is in April and September), but it was too late to apply for the program when I found out about it. How about you, have you found anything?
  9. Thanks for the advice. I've already found a place to live. But I've been having a hard time finding a job, any advice?FYI, I have a ADN and I'm a new grad.
  10. I love maryland, I'm actually from there. Moved to NYC, b/c my boyfriend lives up here and we just got engaged. Otherwise I would have stayed, I already had a job ready for me as soon as I was done with school. And now i've been trying to find a job in NYC. I'm looking at NYU's midwifery program. They don't require you to have experience and they will accept you as long as you have a ADN + a BS in another field.
  11. I have a BS in biology and a master in public health.... Went back to school b/c I now want to be a midwife, so I graduated in may with an ADN and will start my MSN in midwifery in the Spring.
  12. Thank you for the advice. I've actually applied for MSN in midwifery, as a back-up in case I couldn't find a job... so worst case scenario, I'll go ahead and get my MSN. Thanks for the info.
  13. Wow...lol... you're funny!! FYI i do have a 4 yr degree as well as a masters! Anything else???!!! I did my research, and where I currently live ADN's are accepted. I was not expecting to be moving to NY... It really disappoints me, I thought as nurses we were here to help each other out. I guess not...
