Incredible, absolutely incredible. I stumbled onto this site because I was considering studying to become a nurse, so I wanted to see what it was 'really' like, you know instead of the stuff you see on "scrubs" and "grey's anatomy". I have no medical training whatsoever yet I read through 140 pages so far, and plan on finishing, let me say you people blow my mind! I literally am apalled at how dedicated the nursing community is to people care, so shocked by this I had to sign up and say something. First off, although I read through all these stories without gagging or anything (actually quite entertaining), there is no way on earth I would ever want to be a nurse, cleaning people's bodily wastes, treating cancer patients, blood, gore, old people. Oh man, I'm thinking over half of the people that go to nursing school are in for a big surprise when they actually have to earn their fat paycheck lol. Do you naturally get accustomed to grossness or are you born with an iron stomach? I'm a clean freak kind of guy I swear cleaning my roommate's crap off the toilet is enough to make me dry heave. What makes a nurse want to be a nurse? I'm assuming a person with a compassionate heart as opposed to someone just wanting a secure job with guaranteed pay. To the user who posted the story about the grenade blowing the guy's head off and the body still running, I have actually read of this occurance in war related books, people who lose their head and their bodies just kind of flip out and run around for a few seconds. Also about the Christian family who thought their family member would be healed from advanced cancer, I am a devout Christian and I felt bad reading about how this family acted, I believe in praying for the sick, but I also believe God gave us science and medicine to heal sick people, America has the most advanced healthcare system in the world despite what President Obama likes to say. Anyway I think I'm gonna study computers instead, boring yet much more sanitary! Peace to you all and God bless.
