Hi whitebunny, I failed too. And this is my second attempt. I think I will take my third attempt on Fen 2011. I need to get off the CRNE for a bit now.

I didn't receive a fine, but was informed that the hospital would not look at me favourably next if I applied again. That didn't bother me because I was planning on migrating out of the country. The nursing skill that you have is actually very precious. Maintain your registration and never let it lapse. Many many jobs now require a combination of skills. With nursing and something else that you like, you will be a very marketable in any health or clinical vocation.

Hi. I felt this way too before. I could not continue bedside nursing and I too broke my contract. I absolutely hated my job. I thought, since I have a nursing background, how can I use it for another vocation that I might like. After some Ix, I thought I could use it in Information Technology...and I was right. So I got another HIM degree and the combination has proved very useful indeed. Nursing could also be used for research into pharmaceuticals, project management, nursing informatics and anything to do with hospitals or clinical care. You are not alone.

4. I think a masters in HIM or HI will definitely pay more. But I wonder about registration with the relevant bodies without a degree in it first. Some associations do not register witha masters...they want a basic degree in the field first.

1. I got my HIM cert from Australia. But this HIM or a similar one in Health Informatics is available in the US, Canada, UK. Its gaining in popularity. 2. If I had to it again, I would go into Health Informatics. HI is more computer systems in healthcare, whereas HIM is more medical records, electronic medical records and clinical coding. 3. CAN $35/hour.

At that time, I wanted another qualification fast using my BSN as leverage. I got into HIM for one year in university, and its up and up from there.

I was in your shoes once. Then I decided that there is more to nursing than just bedside nursing. I discovered health information management where my clinical skills are very needed to do clinical coding, nursing informatics (computer systems used in healthcare), clinical project management, clinical sales, education. I even used my nursing skills to get a job as a lecturer for HIM. You have a lot going for you with nursing. I never regreted having it now.

I mean, what are my options now? Should I start taking the initiative and explore NCLEX, or hope, hope, hope for the best for the CRNE? Frankly, I feel sick in my stomach because last June was my second attempt at the CRNE. Somebody please help and give me some suggestions, websites for NCLEX, tell me straight if I can work in the States when I failed the CRNE, etc, etc... Thanks for all advise.

HI, I'm really worried that I won't make it for this CRNE. Its my second time and I did not answer about 25 questions at the end. There was simply no time. Its very unfair that the CNA set us up like this, and claiming that there are some test questions. Can someone tell me my options now...should I explore NCLEX or go for classes to prepare for the third CRNE

Hi Silverdragon. I hope to get my canadian citizenship in a year's time. Then I'll have the NAFTA option. I have no state preference and it does not matter where I go as long as I get to do the NCLEX and work as an RN. Can you tell me which state has a better chance of this? Thanks.

Thanks Janfrn. I really need some sort of encouragement here as to my options. I am a Canadian Permanent Resident. I have failed twice my CRNE. Is there any state in the US that will allow me to take the NCLEX? Currently I have provisional registration (temp registration) with CRNBC. Please come back.

Dear Yahy; I feel so much for you as I am also in the same boat. I am also new to this site. I think I have failed my second attempt at the CRNE done in June 03, 2010. Now, I am looking to the States if there is a place where I can take the NCLEX if I failed my 3 attempts. I need to know where I can do this? Can you write to me? Thanks.
