I was just curious for future reference. I had a patient recently who required high flow oxygen by nasal cannula. She also received an order for an NGT. Is it possible to use one nare for high flow and insert NGT through alternate nare? My charge said that defeats the purpose and would reduce the flow by 50%. I disagreed and reasoning that tubing would operate similarly under higher pressure with one hole.. as in a garden hose.. yes? He looked at me like I was an idiot for asking. Respiratory said yes they do at times do this. My patient ended up refusing the NGT and going to surgery. Please share your protocols and experiences under these circumstances :) Thanks!

@ Jules A, thanks for ur input! @ hathawaytogo, is appollo a cc, csu, or uc? I checked the website and discovered neither s chools are on the list! Both are CSU scools. I am shocked! What disadvantages have u experienced? thank you for bringing t is to my attention! the programs are, however, accrediated by the CCNE....

Hello everyone and thank you for taking the time to read over my post. I was recently accepted to two BSN programs ( CSUSB palm desert and CSU Stanislaus). This is awesome, however, it has become somewhat of a nightmare. I can not decide between the two. CSUSB PD requires 3yr local contract after school where CSU Stan does not employ one. The desert is great winter weather and not too far from orange county and Stanislaus is close not too far from San Fran but very rural (yet growing) community. I really want to attend that offers the best possible education and will look best on a job application. If any of you have any advice I would greatly appreciate it. Personal experience welcome too!!!:)
