  1. Hello all, I have just found out that I got into the nursing program here in SC. Unfortunately, I have a pending DUI charge from New Year's Eve. I thought I had read everything clearly about DUI and SC licensing for nurses but now am concerned that this will prevent me from accepting my place in school. I had understood that DUI conviction was not necessarily an offensed that would keep me from getting my license, but most things I find seem to be for people who have already been licensed getting a DUI. I don't have any other convictions and am not sure if this will come to trial before I finish the program. Anyone with recent experience with this that could help me understand my chances I would greatly appreciate your feedback! I do recognize the seriousness of the situation and am not trying to excuse my behavior, just hoping that my mistake will not stop me from becoming a nurse. If it makes it harder fine, I can deal with that. Consequences are consequences.
