  1. I am learning about IV solutions also I remember IV solutions this way if it is 0.9 NS(Normal Saline) LR(Lactated Ringer) or D5W=isotonic (D5W becomes hypotonic) less than 0.9 ie 0.45% NaCl =hypotonic greater than 0.9 ie 3% NaCl=hypertonic I know this is pretty simplified but it gives a statrting point
  2. Please check my answer. My friend and I are having a small wager on who is right. The dosage availble is Solu-medrol 40 mg/ml. The order for a pediatric client is Solu-medrol 20 mg IV push The child weighs 15 lbs. How many mls will be adminstered. ML=ml/40mg x20 mg My answer is 0.5 ml Friends answer is 3.4 ml (my friend multipled 0.5 x 6.8 kg) I personally think the question is missing the dosage/kg to make it a valid question But how the questions is written I believe my answer is right
  3. We had to get 72 to get a Level II
  4. I had no immunization records either. I am 48 and had to get vacinated for per NS requirement. When I had my first child they told me I had no immunity to measles per my blood work. Even though I remember getting it in high school. I had titers done before the start of NS that showed I had immunity to chicken pox and mumps, but not measles. ( I had chicken pox and mumps as a child.) My primary care doctor gave me two MMR shots. They are to be adminstered 4 weeks apart. They doctor had to check on this. I would check out the CDC website. I believe you will find your answer there. Also I just got hired a nurse tech at my local hospital and they are checking my titers again even with proof of immunization. They were adminstered appoximately 8 months ago and my titers were done about 9 months ago. This is a liitle off topic but my oldest child had chicken pox, mumps, and measles back to back in kindergarden even thoug he recieved his immunization. He also had roseola as an infant.
