Hi, I just started nursing school and i am a bit confused. I have to put a nursing care plan together, based on priotity. The guy is extremly overweight, smoked for 40 years but has quit 10 years ago, he is on anti-hypertensive drugs but his blood pressure is stilol 151/92, he likes his meat and potatoes + lots of salt, now he has difficulty getting around the farm, shortness of breath when walking and swollen leg. The kids have no interest in the farm. He is married. I would go with shortness of breath- ineffective breathing pattern related to weight? then something about the leg skin integrity/circulation related to weight and inactivity? but i should also say something about the activity intolerance and the Nutritional imbalance:more than body requirements. Where does the hypertension fit in? and what do i do first?
