  1. Hi kekcoke, I applied for a few Nursing programs when I was in highschool, but it was hard to get in since I didnt have the min 30 credits from a post secondary school. BCIT requires a min 30 credits and I know Doulgas college is based on a point system and you receive points based on your GPA, past university degree and volunteer hours; therefore, the more courses/ credits and volunteer hours you have the better chance you have in getting accepted. In a way, I guess I had to take all those courses! As for the prerequisites you do need a couple Human Anatomy and English courses. I graduated 3 years ago from highschool so I had to work on my credits and volunteer hours. Most places in BC( That I was intrested in) dont accept students straight out of high school. I actually applied for VCC last August, so I waited for a year before getting accepted. I hope I was helpful! Thank you and good luck with your studies!! :)
  2. Hi Kristin, Congratulations on getting accepted. I can imagine how that must feel! All those years of hard work finally paid off!:) Thanks for you feedback. I didnt know that they have a new building, i'm planning to go for a tour during the summer, just to get used the environment! Hope to see you in class! Have a great summer:p
  3. Teebee5, Thank you for the reply! I just wanted to know if I should wait till next year or just go with this one(VCC). Your post really helped! I'm quite nervous about starting Nursing and i know that i wont be able to rest for the next 4years! :) Thanks again and have a great summer!
  4. Hi Guys: I live in Vancouver, BC. I just got accepted for the Fall 2010 Nursing Program at Vancouver Community College. I was wondering if anyone knows the rating for this school? It's just that i have waited 3 years to get accepted and i'm already on the waitlist for another school for Fall 2011. How long has VCC been offering Nursing? Is VCC a great place for education and such? I have looked everywhere to get the rating for BC Nursing schools but i couldnt find any information. Can you help me to get a better insight in which school to pick?
