I took my test on 25th in VA, but my home state is CA, had 75 questions, PV trick gave me a positive popup window, CA BRN says up to 4 weeks till get results, some classmates who took same day as me and even 1 day after got their license number already, but all their names start with same letter, many are still waiting even those who took earlier than me. It is very frustrating and nerve wrecking. I hope I get a good result on BRN soon

Hi guys, I had a question to the experienced nurses, what would you do in a situation when you are a nurse on medsurge floor, and you were required to float to ICU and take care of patient with PVC and you do not know ICU protocols for dysrhythmias and do not feel competent to carry for this patient. You have already called the supervisor and asked her to come to the floor and relieve you of the responsibility. You are the only RN in ICU at this time and there is an LVN with you as well. I am doing a paper for my leadership class and we are supposed to ask an experienced nurse what he or she would do in a situation like that. Thank you!

I just do not want to buy the books that are on the list but that I will never end up opening, so your experience gave me some guidance as what to purchase. It is true that even though books are quite expensive, at least tuition is cheap. Thanks a lot, and hope to see your in August. And yes, please, if you have some time, share about your concerns during the 1 year of program, the studying techniques that you found helpful, how much time approximately you invested in studying daily, how often did you have tests, and some useful tips for clinicals. As well as, what white shoes would you recommend, because after books shoes are my second concern. Have a great rest of summer!

I am going to SDCCD city college for RN program, in total it took me 2 years to do my prereqs, but for 1 semester which was summer semester I took just 1 class- statistics, because I had just had a baby and he was a very fussy 3 month old kid, fall semester I did not take any classes, then spring semester I did US history, US politics, Bio and Chem, and felt that I could have taken more classes, because they were all easy. I was doing all classes I could online to save me time on driving. Summer semester I did Microbiology, English 101, psychology and sociology, fall semester I did Anatomy, Physiology, Speech, and that is how I spaced out my prereqs. So if I had no kids 3 semesters would be enough for me to finish all prereqs and general education classes. I was a stay at home mom with 2 young kids 3 and 1 year old, and a super supportive husband, he did not expect me to cook or clean, though I still did all that when I could. The only semester that was really tough for me was summer semester when I did 4 classes within 8 weeks, but I got all A's in all my classes that I took, after that it took 2 days to prepare for my TEAS, I remembered mostly everything from my classes, and it was great help, so I passed it with over 91%, English was hard for me, as it is my second language, then I submitted my documents for RN program to city college while I still was finishing the semester with my Anatomy and Phisiology which they let you do if you are still in progress, finishing your prereqs in the same school, city college for me. And in spring I found out that I was admitted to the program, so there was absolutely no waiting for me. I hope it helps you. Good luck.

luv2bake or any other SDCCD 2 year RN student, can you please tell us what books out of the list will really be required. Which books did you use the most during your first year and which books would you personally recommend getting.

I got practice tests and study guide from ATI, and my friend gave me her previous version of ATI pre-test study manual. Can someone advise good study guide to refresh Physics? I have not had any physics for 13 years and do not remember anything. Thank you

I am in the same situation, but doing half classes online, half in classroom. I can do my homework late at night, and I study during the day only before midterm, so far was taking chemistry and biology, politics, history last semester, got all A's, and B in politics, works for me:-))

Guys, currently I am studying for my teas exam, and need your help. I am taking microbio this summer and anatomy and physio during autumn semester, will it be too hard for me to study for anatomy questions in TEAS before taking it? I want to take my exam in SDCCD, does anyone know, if they use version 4 or 5 there? Please, advise, where to get McGraw-Hill's Nursing School Extrance Exams from. Thanks a lot..
