  1. I was thinking about copper mountain college but can you believe that since it has been almost 7 years since I took pre reqs they want me to not only take chem, bio, anatomy, and phis... But also all other classes like math, psy, reading, soc... Etc !! I said you guys are crazy!!! So I went to cod and they said better chance to do transition from Lvn to RN but not sure yet if I am required to work for 1 yr as an lvn before I can apply for RN I have to ask tomorrow. Then went to riverside community college and they said there is no amount of cutoff time for pre reqs... If you took them you have taken them . So I'm applying up there also.
  2. thank you runbabyrun makes a lot of sense
  3. thats really good to know that the lvn program helped you not be so intimidated with the RN Program. I am ready and have all my pre reqs done for RN program but I am still going to apply for the LVN only because I was told at College of the Desert and Riverside Community College this may help me be chosen for the RN program quicker. I surely hope so.
  4. I have AA only in liberal arts and BA only in psychology and I went into real estate actually since 1999!! I went back to school in 2006 and took pre reqs to start RN school and they used lottery system and after a year I still wasn't chosen so went into hard money lending and purchasing rentals. I now am enrolling to pursue the RN career again and I am right on the cusp of having to retake the pre reqs (chem, anat, phis, and micro). I am scared but looking forward to it sort of. I keep going back and forth and have had alot of feedback from several RN's. I have met..I have put each given each different nurse a number LOL 1. Says she has been one for 20+ years and loves it 2. Hurt her back 7 years ago and is trying to sell Mary Kay 3. One that still works and has been for 15 years in neonatal but is tired and is trying to sell essential oils to get out of the nursing industry 4. Found one who works part time at Walgreens who said she was in the industry for 30+ years and attained a BSN and worked almost every section she could but when you are striving to always get more degrees and make more money up the ladder she was completely burnt out over the multitude of paperwork that never ended and kept her away from family and friends many a days and nights. 5. A lady who teaches LVN classes at a small nurses institute who only earned her LVN and went on to attaining Masters in Psychology etc who said after LVN she didn't want to be in medical field anymore. All of this has me really worried and some say all the money is in real estate and rentals etc. Why would you want to change that?? Well I don't make a lot in the lending or rentals but I can always over time make more. As it is I do have ADD and to remember what I have studied is 5x harder than it seems it may be for others. I have always had a distaste for sciences and always tried to avoid them so I went for a degree in Psychology LOL. Anyway sorry for being so long winded I just guess I wanted to use all the classes I have taken so far and not let the education go to waste. I would like to have a title my family can be proud of even though I know it would mean a lot less time with my family. I would just like some feed back on others thoughts on this whole situation. Thanks
  5. Thank you this helps a lot because I have the teas 5 secret study guide the ati book and the McGraw hill 5 tests book. The ATI book really doesn't seem to be that easy to understand but the secret study guise seems very straightforward and easier I just hope it's not too easy and I will not be ready for the test. Thank you for the info !!!
