Hi AN! I've lurked here for a while and you ladies and gents are amazing! I've already had so many of my questions answered. I did have a couple of specific questions I was hoping to get help with. To make a long story very short, I'm 21 with about 3 years of college behind me. I always thought I wanted to be a teacher, but with the deaths of two of my grandparents, discovering I have a heart defect and the fact my own sister is a nurse, I came to realize nursing is what I truly want to do. So, last Spring semester I began to take pre-reqs for my school's nursing program. I came out with an A in Chem, B's in Dev Psy, A&PI and Micro and a C in Micro Lab. My school is very competitive so I got discouraged and gave up and went back to my teaching courses. However, I still want to be a nurse. I work full-time in the evenings as a pharmacy tech at a hospital and I see nurses constantly and I know I can do what they do. I want it. My ACT was a 27 and my overall college GPA is 3.55, so hopefully I'm not completely out of the running. In order to try to save money, I've applied to my local CC in hopes of entering their LPN program (even though it's fairly selective too, I've heard) and then bridge over to RN. I think this might be my best chance at becoming an RN. I might with a CC counselor soon (just waiting for some transcripts to come in) and I hope she'll have some more information for me. I was just curious if anyone else thought this seemed like a good plan or had done this with similar grades. Thank you all! :)
