  1. actually it does. i had scrolled through their lengthy list of infractions and from what i took away from it was that i would get a green light. but when they send me that letter i was like oh man. i just i will just sit tight until they get back to me. thanks for the reply, really helps with my nerves knowing they more than likely will say yes but with stipulations. thanks for your help. take care and god bless.
  2. yeah thats what is happening here. painter turning nurse.
  3. thank you good sir
  4. I apologize for not fully disclosing the issues I was speaking of. The school that I will be looking at attending requires you to submit your application to the TXBON prior to attending. I submitted my application with the declaratory statement listing all the infractions that would come up on the required background check along with the personal statement. I even listed some that I was not convicted of but that i would think would show up. DWI 2003, misdemeanor evading 2002, a few article 15s from when i was in the military(which are not considered misdemeanors or felonys). I received a letter a couple of weeks ago requested an additional $150 for it to go to a higher board for them to review my application. What I wanted to know, is if any of you have ever run into or heard of this. I have looked online at the TXBON website that lists the infractions and what is allowed when submitting an application. Does receive a letter from them requesting an additional fee constitute a NO from the board?
  5. i was required to send in an additonal 150 for it to go to the next level of authorization. Have you guys had any issues getting past this point in regard to saying yes even with a multitude of things on background. i did everything i was as to do and i feel nervous and im not even in school yet. my school make me go through the process prior to up starting the program. should i have something to worry about.

First off let me introduce myself. My name is Phillip and am pretty excited to have joined this forum (i belong to probably 15 automotive boards). Will be taking my last class for my pre-reqs in a couple of weeks and trying to get into the LVN program. My question is what does the BON really consider offenses that will keep them from approving you. The school i will be attending makes you get approval prior to starting school so that you dont waste your time and money then finish and they say no. Ive read everything on the state website and I would qualify for approval. Do any of you guys have knowledge of their modus operandi? I sent the declatory statement in with payment and then got a letter back saying to send in an additional $150 fee for it to go to the next level. Oh and im crossing my fingers and hoping that everything goes well and that i one day get to become a nurse.
