  1. @rileyoscarfish >> ordered my books >>> $800! And I don't think I got them all... think I left out 2 required books... we'll see how all that goes down. lol. I did order them on Amazon, much easier to do, and cheaper than the book store on most new books. I haven't started on the math questions yet... I am still trying to finish up A&P II and I have 2 online classes I need to start!!! Sheesh!! I will be going crazy. But I am going to try and take a look @ that soon. @zaxiom >>> Everyone that I know that got in, got into the Spring semester all had scores on the PAX from 110 - 120's, I did as well. Not sure how helpful this is, but might give you some clue. Also, everyone that I know that applied got in... so I don't think there are 2 slim of chances. JCTC told me they accepted 80 in spring and 80 in fall semester and there was no waiting list. Hope this helps! Thanks for the book advice... it is my understanding these books will be used for the next 2 years... so my only option is really to buy.
  2. OK... so I am now working on getting my books. Have you done this yet? I am going to try and buy them online to save $$$. And to charge them b/c they are going to cost me a fortune!!!! Have any advice?
  3. OMG! I just scanned through the syllabus! I am SUPER EXCITED! That is awesome how they have everything laid out for you! I love a scheduled plan! I am such a geek when it comes to things like that! LOL That commute sounds yuk! I hope you find a commuting partner. FYI -- 1st day of school -- arrive early!! Because everybody downtown will be fighting for the parking lot. There will be people there that show up @ 7:30 just to get a parking spot. I have young children and will just be paying to park the first few days/weeks if I don't get there soon enough. And don't forget you also get fight downtown traffic of everyone going to work in the same place at the same time!!! thanks for the "titter" story... does make me feel better! LOL let me know if you find/see anything else that I need to pay attention to. I am an awful skimmer, and I usually skim rather than read completely. even though I am going to try and make myself read ALL of that info... OVERWHELMING!
  4. thanks on the titer information... just for your own giggles... i called the nursing program coordinator today and asked what a "titter" was... she got a very good giggle out of this... oopsie!!! lmao!!! totally understand the rat race part... i feel like that might have ended just once i got my application turned in... but oh was i wrong!!!! also, when i called today, i was asking about being enrolled in nursing 106, which i wasn't. so hopefully that will be cleared up and i will get to see my syllabus... so excited!!! does it tell you your hours?? that is what i am very worried about, what my schedule will be like. i am thinking about doing the med terms... i haven't done anything like that before... so prob would be good for me. i just have to take care of childcare. so... do you know anyone else? i know one guy... but really don't know him... just a friend of a friend. i totally feel like a freshman starting high school!!!
  5. A titer?? what is that?? oh how I need to know because I have no clue where my immunization records are... and that is really stressing me out! and where did you find the syllabus? I can't wait to find out what my schedule will be like... do you know when we will find that out? I am a late applicant, I just got admitted last week, so I am totally feeling the time crunch and out of the loop a bit and I am finishing up A&P II... which... is kicking my butt!!!! LOL It is good that you posted this... hopefully others will see it as well!
  6. I am!!! And I am sooo excited and nervous!! I have to start working on the packet that you have to do before school starts and that REALLY freaked me out!!!! shots, cpr, drug tests!!! and shots!!!! But I am soooo excited to be in the program and finally get STARTED!!!! YAY!
  7. thats what I am hearing too... I guess I will just have to be patient and wait and see... thx for your help!!! :)
  8. I am trying to get into JCTC Nursing program for this fall... I AM A NERVOUS WRECK!!! Deadline for application is May 20. Does anyone know how long it takes to hear back if you were accepted? Does anyone know how hard it is to get in? Number of applicants vs. Number accepted? I don't really know a lot of nursing students that went to or go to JCTC, any advice is GREATLY APPRECIATED!!!! :)
