  1. I can't really tell you about Loyola's ABSN program, but as an undergrad at loyola I got into the nursing program after my 1st semester. My advisor told me about how hard it is to get into the program and so forth since I did not apply to the school to go into the nursing program, but low and behold after all the negative things she told me I got in w/ a 3.3 GPA and having a withdrawl from my chem class. I think a lot of universities try to be negative about people's chances getting in due to the fact that, I'm sure, there are tons of applicants, but you have to remember that several of those applicants simply aren't qualified or have the grades, and there are some applicants that are highly superior (but that is most likely about 10-20% of the total applicants), and the rest are probably just normal kids who have a good GPA and stand a good chance. Good luck, I hope you get in!
  2. Hi Everyone! I'm new to the site and everything, but I just have a question regarding the traditional nursing pathway at mason. I am currently a student there in pre-nursing, and I am already anxious about applying to the program and my chances of being accepted. I know that it is super competitive an everything so I shouldn't really get my hopes up For those who have been accepted, what is the average GPA? And a student who had been accepted said that they look at more than GPA such as volunteer work and your essay, and TEAS. Right now, I have around a 3.4 GPA (I have A's in all my classes this semester except for a gen-ed, which I got a C in). Is this C in a gen-ed class really going to hurt my chances? If I have good grades for the rest of my classes, especially the nursing pre-reqs, do I stand a good chance? Also, on the resume for the nursing program, can you list volunteer work you completed in high school? Overall, if I have at least a 3.5 cum GPA, some volunteer work, a good essay, and high TEAS scores, do I stand a shot? Sorry about my freak out, I'm just already anxious about my chances of getting in and I really want to do nursing at mason. Thanks Again!
