Congratulations on your job! I just found out I got a job in the nurse residency program at Emory as well. I am in the same boat as you. They have sent me the schedule break down for the first week of orientation, but besides that I am not sure what shift or anything I will be working. During my interview they said new grads typically work a 40 hr work week including the classroom time. I don't know if that means 8hr classroom time, an 8hr shift on the floor and 2 12s or what. I am sure they will break everything down during orientation. If you get any other info please let me know. See you the week of the 21st :)

So I took the NCLEX this morning. I had 188 questions and walked out of there feeling sick. I did the pearsonvue "trick" and the good pop up came up. How accurate is this little trick? Has anyone heard of people getting the pop up then not passing or visa versa. It is safe to say I am freaking out!

I feel like I am reading my own post. I recently got an externship in the Emergency Department as well. I was diagnosed with ADHD when I was in high school, but have just started taking medication for it a little over a year ago. Before, the fact that I couldn't pay attention never affected my grades but once I began nursing school it was a different story. I also had to get a pre-employment drug screen and physical. If you can prove that you are prescribed these medications it should not be a problem. I mean having ADD is not something they can fire you over. That would be discrimination which is illegal. So I would bring your bottles so they can make copies of them, and then that should be it. Best of luck on your externship! I am sure you are excited. I know I am!!
