@sugarmagnolia, I totally understand how you feel though! I took most of my Pre-reqs at Brookhaven & thought about applying there also, especially if I didn't get into Baylor. It's a great program also. If you can make it work financially for Baylor I think you should totally go for it since you can have your BSN in 12 months vs just an ADN in 15 months! Also you have to think about all the contacts you'll make at baylor & that you'll very likely have a job lined up before even graduating!! BUT of course you'll become a nurse either way & you have to do the program that feels right for you. Congrats on having the option for both! :) That's a great place to be even though I know it seems tough right now having to make such a hard decision.

Congrats to you all also!! We should definitely meet in person before starting the program in May! As far as the $ is concerned, I'll be taking out loans & hoping for any sort of scholarships possible. As far as not working goes, I luckily have an amazing & supportive husband who will be a huge help. I know that the cost is scary, but I feel like the education, contacts, & prestige that comes along with being a Baylor nursing student & nurse is priceless. Also, for me getting my bsn out of the way in such a short amount of time is a huge plus! I'm sure after nursing school we'll all be burnt out on school for awhile

I also applied for the 2012 fastbacc program & have been stalking my mailbox like crazy :) I also heard we should know by the end of November or early December ..hoping we know before thanksgiving. Please update on here as soon as any of you receive a letter & I'll do the same. I live in Dallas so as soon as they mail something I should get it the next day.

Sugarmagnolia, we're in almost the same situation! The Hesi was overall pretty easy. I ordered study guides online & studied those for a couple weeks before the test. The vocab section was mostly a&p and science related stuff so some people may not have expected that. I'm sure you'll do well! Jm2011, that's an interesting fact about hospitals needing 80% nurses with bsn's for magnet status. Something to def keep in mind! Thanks for sharing that info.

Just came across this thread. I'm applying to Brookhaven for Spring 2012 admission also. I got a 91 on the HESI when I took it last September for "practice", but I'm planning to retake it (in hopes for a higher grade of course ) I hate to gamble like that, but I'd only have about 30.75 points when applying unless I can boost it up with a better HESI score. I'm also applying to TCU's 2nd degree accelerated BSN program, so it'll be a tough choice for me if I get accepted into both! Major cons with TCU is the $ and distance, but the major pro is finishing with a BSN vs an ADN in the same amount of time.
