That's happened to me a few times and the answer I got was the needle probably went thru a vein to the other side and out the far wall of the vein and embedded in muscle tissue so when you aspirated there was no blood, but after the injection and withdrew the needle back through the vein the blood following the path of the needle on the way out of the vein and the path produced by the needle through the IM site. Similar to the way blood travels the path of the needle during blood draws only without the needle for the path. -john

I don't post very often, but I do read the posts. I saw the show and kinda liked it. Many people took offense to the show and how people were portrayed and I agree with many, but I have to say its only a tv show which I usually watch as entertainment. Remember its not a documentary. But it would be nice to see a show where people are portayed as professional, compassionate, intelligent, etc. But how many of these things (on the show) have actually happened in real life? I've see quite a bit of that crap myself and friends also tell me horror stories of docs, nurse, aides, techs, etc, but I've also experienced and heard many wonderful healthcare professional stories out there. Thanks for this info..very informative. This also answers Future Nurse Jess's question. I guess the most of the cori checks I've had didn't require so much disclosure. Great point on the moral character issue. That should keep out the bad people from being hired. But it also makes me wonder how some of the weirdos do get hired! Rules are good but only for the honest folk or so it seems. Also I do have as a minor a misdermeanor that is sealed and it did not show. It was non violent, non drug related a long time ago.

There seems to be a bit more to this issue than I thought. But I have been CORI checked before ( I also hold gov't clearnance) and asked if thesen type of offences were checked and told no. But I could have been misinformed. I'm in Mass. But still I would not worry to much. Anybody out there with definite info on this? -john

1. Never volunteer info of this type. 2. Sealed records shouldn't show either. 3. You weren't arrested ?? 4. no conviction. 5. no problem 6. don't worry.
