  1. Got my letter today! I got the nod earlier last month to transfer into a BSN program but today got the letter from my first choice, an ADN program. Really excited to have this last year of work behind me and looking forward to the real work to start. Congrats to all who got in and to those who have not, keep trying if it is something you really want to do.
  2. Congrats, that is great news!
  3. Well, now I have dilemma. I have been accepted as a transfer into a BNS program starting this fall. Whew, at least the hard work has paid off and I know no matter what I will be in a program this fall. I am an older student (40's) changing careers. I am hoping to hear in April that I have also been accepted to the ADN program I have applied for. May be jumping the gun but if I get into both I am not sure what to do. I work at a hospital and at this point the hospital system is only hiring BSN's as new nurses. BSN students get preference in SNAP positions and so on. ADN would have me out working earlier but would still take longer to get the BSN. So, three years to complete the BSN or two years to complete ADN get out and hopefully get a job, work a year and do a ADN to BSN program? In our area most all the ADN to BSN programs start in June and run 12 months. The deadline for application would have past by the time I graduate from the ADN program so would have to wait a year to enter the ADN to BSN program. Of course I may not get into the ADN program and my choice is made for me. If it was up to you, what would you do? Good luck everyone! The wait is horrible!
  4. Finishing Micro, A&P I,II out of the way with A's. All other coursework is fully completed other than the actual nursing courses. My application is in and now the waiting game begins. I am sure I will finish with a decent grade in Micro. The program only takes under 50 students and is based soley on prereqs and a point system. No entrance exams or interviews. So, waiting it out till notification in April. In the same boat with everyone else :)
  5. No, not too old at all. I am 44 and will be submitting my application to the ADN program this fall. I have one last prereq to finish (micro) and I am done. There are a group of us who have been working through our prereq's together and we range at the low end 30 to the high end of 55. Never too old to do something that makes you happy and is worthwhile! Good luck!
  6. I am currently taking A&PI and am signed up for A&P II for second summer session. Class meets Tu,wed, thr for four hours. Lecture three hours, lab and hour each night. We have a unit exam on Tuesdays and lab exams on Thursday. Takes a ton of time and pretty stressful. Good thing is that at the end of the summer I will be done with A&P and will have all my prereq's completed.
