  1. Thanks my goal is to continue on and get my BSN. I did look into the refresher courses and have found they are mainly for RN's. but I'm still hopeful and pushing forward.
  2. Hi, I am a Licensed Practical Nurse, I obtained my LPN in 2010. I worked for 6 months in a nursing home and had to stop because my husband became terminally ill. For 2 years I took care of my husband whom recently passed in July 2012. I am now in the process of getting my life back in order I moved from VA and now live in FL, I am back in school seeking an RN degree thru SPC. Is this a wise thing to do or should I look for another nursing program? Also I would like to work now so I am looking for a refresher course before I get back into the field. I know SPC has a refresher course but I would have to arrange a clinical site on my own. Are there other refresher courses that offer hands on training?
  3. HI I am a recent LPN grad I've been working in a nursing home for the past 3 months my husband recently got out of the military and is looking to relocate to Florida. Are there any jobs in Tampa for new LPN grads if so how much is the pay? Where should I begin to look. I would really like to work on the med-surg floor or in the ER. Please any help would be great.
  4. I was told as long as your ID has your new name you will have no problem. Also if you need help there is an online program called NCLEX Nuggets.
  5. Once you become licensed you can go to any state and pay there fees to become licensed in that state you don't have to take the test over. I am also a military wife and I understand about the time crunch. Although MCI is private you can get your LPN quicker than a traditional college yes its more expensive but unless you have 2 or three years to stay in VA I would go to MCI. Also to help pay for school you can go to MyCAA (find out more info from Fleet family support center) they give you $6,000 toward any program in demand. It can be used for traditional or private school you just have to be enrolled. Also Nursing school period is very stressful you might think about waiting until you are permanetly stationed somewhere.
  6. Hi I recently graduated from MCI @Virginia Beach this past January 2010 and I recieved my license in March. The school is legit and after taking the NCLEX you will have a multicompact license in Va, Washington, NC and a few others. If you are thinking aboput this school you really have to be disciplined and a self learner it help's if you have previous medical experience but again as long as you are slef motivated and disciplined you should do well. There are some great teachers there very tough though. I hope that helps if you have anymore questions feel free to send me a message.
