  1. Hi all you wonderful nurses! I know you dont hear that enough..I am a single nurse w/ fifteen yrs in the OR and am wanting to start traveling early next year, but there are so many companies and I want THE BEST. Can any of you seasoned travelers tell me about your experiences and maybe recommend a company. One reason I want to travel is I want JUST an 8 hr day. Do you think I can accomplish this? I DONT WANT TO DO CALL ANYMORE, too old, too tired, too fed up with that dang 1.50 an hr to put your life on hold and never get a full nights sleep or not a good one, knowing the phone will ring...any help appreciated..Deb RN
  2. Im trying to get answers from people that might have experience with probation, but thanks for the uplifting answer.
  3. IM trying to get some answers from people that might have had some experience.
  4. In March 02 I had moved home to start a new job with new surgical hospital. Three months into job they popped us with a"urine screen for NEW employees". I failed for marijuana metabs. There were others including my direct boss but some knew it was coming. I did not. Well, lesson learned. Hard lesson learned. I had no idea Id be turned over to the state board and it was a nightmare, 700.00 fine, 100.00 a month to be drug screened, and 18 mos probation. To make this long story shorter, Im wondering if after probation I will have any trouble either in a traveling job or going to another state. I was lucky to find a job in my field, operating room, here after all went down. I live in a small town, but am known and as it was it took 6 mos to get on with a small hospital. They have sold and I am wanting better pay and benefits and mostly just to get the hay outta this town when probation is over. Any input would be appreciated. Ive never been in trouble before and have 15 yrs in OR. I am working for a boss who knows shes got me under her thumb and makes my life miserable. I work harder than most and know Im a good nurse..just wanting feedback from anyone that knows. Thanks for at least reading. Please reply
  5. The first time I took it was a few years ago and went through a two day course. It was like sweating bullets! Took it about 2 months ago and the girl giving it to me helped me with everything..it isnt the same. I didnt even study. Dont sweat it and dont tell on people, will only come back to haunt you...voice of experience
  6. Hi, Ive been looking for someplace to relocate to. I do like the snow and mild temps in summer, but the cost of housing really surprised me. Are there any homes in decent areas under 100,000??Someone said heat was high, how high? Hows the crime rate?
  7. where are you? Our on call pay is about 1.50 an hr and time and 1/2 if youre called in :rotfl:
