Any know of any online Lvn to rn programs. Thoughts on excelsior? Or achieve prep test? I didn’t get accepted in the allegany of Maryland and honestly I don’t want to wait forever just wanting to get it done. Any information would be great!!!

A student passes out on the field and the school nurse is called to the field. How would you go about the situation? I know everyone is different but I'm just wondering how others would handle this situation.

how horrible!!! Well I know we have some standing orders from our medical doctor.. And I do believe we are allowed to have epi pens on campus but I will double check!!!

What type of emergencies do school nurses(lvn) get at the jr high level and how do you handle it? How do you determine whether or not a child should be sent home?(besides the obvious signs fever,diarrhea)

I have been hired for a jr high school nurse 2014-2015 and I'm excited but very scared.. I just keep hearing and reading how horrible this position is! I am wondering if anyone has any tips such as ideas for organization of medications/paperwork, what supplies work best for you, what would you do in certain/common emergencies(sports injuries etc.) This will be a completely different field for me so any information would be great!!!!

I am wanting to know a description of the job title. If anyone has any experience and would like to share please do!!! And in your opinion is it a secure job and do you enjoy it?

I am currently a LVN in Austin tx. I was applying for Lamar port Arthur online but they has a warning and are not taking new nursing students. I can not get a hold of anyone.. No one will return my phone calls so I don't know if they are ever going to continue the progr. Anyway I was looking for other options I'm not sure i want to do excelsior because of the cost. Does anyone know or can give me any information of online programs that are recognized by Texas. I heard Indiana state university had one but not sure for that's accurate. I searched the texas BON but I can't find any online programs. Any help would be great thanks!!!!

I started a new job about four months ago and my MA is treating me like I'm an idiot she be littles me everyday.... I'm not going to lose my cool because I'm more professional than that. But how do I Handle this? I've tried talking to her the doc the manager and Nothing gets resolved she is always Doing personal issues at work she doesnt help... I'm the nurse I know I'm new and she's been there longer but don't I deserve respect I respect her but I'm to the point of not being the nice nurse anymore!!!i hate my job more and more each day!!!

Great!!! I just spoke to one of the reps. I think Im going to do it and thats a good idea on the tests may have to steal it:D if you dont mind. Did you find that the books helped you or did you not use the books at all?

I just passed my nclex pn and I'm wanting to transition to my bsn I heard excelsior had an all online program for this which would work out great w my schedule because I would like to work and go to school I've heard horror stories about this program and great stories...just wondering if anyone has had experience with this program and what were your thoughts on it would you recommend it also can you tell me how the program is designed like clinicals and classes. Thanks so much!!!

Can anyone give more pointers about the nclex-pn...trying to get as much as I can to study this thing? IDK how Im going to remember every disease,drug,lab value etc....AHHHH....also rumor has it there were alot of SATA's yikes not my cup of tea?!?! Freakin out over here havent slept in days and my test is in a week:eek: ps. Yeah Im anxiety is up the roof!

Im about to take the nclex-pn next week Ive been taking quizes and going over study guides with the silverstein book and another book that we received during school.....but Im still not feeling good about this test and the more i study the more I realize I know nothing....few of my friends took the test already and said it was hard and they aren't sure if they even passed...my stomache is all in knots:crying2: if anyone has any tips, advice or anything that might help me please share!!!!!!!!! Im beyond stressed!!!! I've heard horror stories about this test ugh....I just dont feel ready..Im sitting here rethinking this whole nursing career...and how the heck I even passed anyways! HELP!!

I got accepted in the LVN program for 2010...I was wondering if you had any other pointers..Im so unbelievabley nervous...I already want to quit..just got my books and it is very overwhelming...also when I went to orientation they talked about a math exam either you fail out or you pass..:/ I really want to be a nurse..I believe its my passion..but what if I'm not fit for it??

I was just wondering if anyone has already completed the LVN program at weatherford College and if it was extremely hard. I went to orientation and they said nothing really positive about the program...they talked about how hard it was how strict it was..they also talked about a math test that you have to pass with a 90% or you fail out of the program in the fall and a 95% to pass the spring...the only thing they said that was kind of positive was its do able....I'm just wondering if I should just give up now and not waste my money on it....I really really want to be a nurse but IDK.... Any help or advice that you can give me will be great!! like how to survive clinicals, I work in a vets office and I can handle dog vomit and feces and all that but how do you do it with people....how do you pass everything with A's or high B's I want to do my best...I have so much anxiety right now AHHHH:eek:

Thanks everyone for all of your inputs.....I will definiltley try the vicks I love that smell anyway:) and even the breathing through the mouth Im sure I will catch myself not breathing at all on some things lol... healthstar-Im sure you will get over it after you see it over and over...eventually you will just get used to it..at least thats what Im thinking! vsh1109-Thanks for the story I get where your coming from, we have to think how horrible they would feel and that were here to help....Im sure you will do great as a nurse! WOW!!!!!!!! that's awesome!!!!! That's what I want as a career I want that suspense that feeling that you saved someone's life! Thats why Im praying that I can do this nursing school and nothing will stand in my way!! Sounds like your an amazing nurse!!

Im about to start nursing and I right now I cant handle vomit or other bodily fluid smells or sounds...I keep telling myself that I will get used to it like I got used to it working at the vet clinic. Does anyone have any suggestions on how to handle this...Im not going to let this stop me from achieving my goal! So any ideas will help!!!
