Goldfarb/Barnes Jewish College of Nursing
Thank you for the reply. I actually won't have any loans, I saved up enough to pay for the school. So I will only need to spend 10-15 hrs a week working at most, to pay for living expenses. But I am currently taking A&P II and Nutrition (my last 2 prerequisites) and that, plus working 20 hrs a week is taking up a lion's share of my time. And my first term I will be taking not 2, but FOUR classes, including Pharmacology and Pathophysiology (plus clinicals), so I am kind of afraid that I won't have time for 'simple things' like working out and (love) life :) But your words were quite comforting.

Nursing Prerequisites.....How Hard?
For Anatomy & Physiology plan to study a minimum of 14 hrs a week. Same for Microbiology. They are not difficult, but you have to be very-focused and pay attention to details.

Waitlist chances
Hi everyone, I am #8 on the waitlist for Goldfarb's nursing program at Washington University for Spring 2011 term (2-year Upper Division BSN Program). They said that the class contains 70 students, but that my chances are 'very good'. How is it possible? Wouldn't roughly 15% of the class have to change their minds for me to get in? I am confused :) Thanks!

Starting salaries for new nurses
$21/hr in St. Louis, $25/hr if you work night shifts. I'd be curious to hear about other places in the country, for example NJ.

Just signed up....
Just worry about Anatomy and Microbiology, the rest are easy. That said, I wouldn't take those two together if you can avoid it. If you don't have to work while studying - you should be okay, my friend took the same 5 classes and got all As.
