  1. llg- Thank you for your response, as this is a very good suggestion. We are currently looking for BSN and MSN prepared nurses for the survey; I will change the text of the post for future posts to reflect this. evanlee- Thank you for your interest, the completion of our project will occur over the next several months.
  2. Thank you everyone, for your interest in the research.
  3. Nurses' Mandatory Continuing Education Research Survey link: http://www.itd.depaul.edu/quickdata2/viewwebform.asp?id=6872 You are being asked to participate in a research study being conducted by Kimberlee Upcraft and Jennifer Elvikis under the direct supervision of Barbara Harris, Assistant Visiting Professor, at DePaul University. We are asking you because we are trying to learn more about nurses' attitudes toward continuing education, whether attitudes are correlated with certain demographics and perceived barriers to accessing continuing education. This study will take about 10-15 minutes of your time. If you agree to be in this study, you will be asked to fill out a questionnaire that has been created using QuickData. The questionnaire will include questions about demographics such as education level, area of practice, number of years in practice, gender, and state you practice in; attitudes and opinions regarding continuing professional education; types of education modalities utilized; and barriers to accessing continuing education. You can choose not to participate. There will be no negative consequences if you decide not to participate or change your mind later. You can withdraw your participation at any time prior to submitting your survey. If you change your mind later while answering the survey, you may simply exit the survey. Once you submit your responses, we will be unable to remove your data later from the study because all data is anonymous and we will not know which data belongs to you. If you have questions about this study, please contact Kimberlee Upcraft [email protected]; Jennifer Elvikis at [email protected]; or the faculty sponsor Barbara Harris at [email protected]. If you have questions about your rights as a research subject, you may contact Susan Loess-Perez, DePaul University's Director of Research Protections at 312-362-7593 or by email at [email protected]. You may keep this information for your records.
  4. Tulip19- I actually did just get it and I tried to respond to you, but it wouldn't let me respond with a PM because I didn't have 15 posts yet and the site requires that to send a PM for some reason. I think this will be my 15th so I will try to respond right now :) Sorry about that!
  5. CAgail- I currently live in Lakeview and I love this area too. While it is more expensive than Rogers Park or Edgewater, as a small girl who is sometimes walking alone at night, I feel a lot safer living in this area. I would say if you choose to go that far north just be careful in which spot you decide on because certain parts of it become slightly more sketchy, especially at night. Other good areas that are slightly cheaper than where I am at are near the Addison red line and the Southport brown line stop.
  6. I was actually just about to post about this :) I actually did the live chat with DePaul graduate admissions to ask about a confirmation, and they said if you were accepted on the campus connect then you were in!!! Congrats to everyone that has this!!! They also said that official letters went in the mail today, so probably expect them in the next few days. Tulip19- I think you were also on the UIC GEP forum with me for PNP wait list? If so, are you going to wait at all or just send it in right away? I can't decide what to do..
  7. wow! I am surprised they are not sending out an official letter at all. Jeannie25, there is no deadline for my immunizations that I can see, it just has a list in a spreadsheet with all of the information not received. Also, has anyone else had a problem with the "next steps for enrollment" or the website for new students selection not linking to any page?
  8. I haven't gotten an official letter, but on the course compass site, there is now and admitted students tab with a welcome note saying congratulations. I hope that is a good sign? :) You should check there as well!!
  9. Congrats!!! That is so exciting!! I also applied for January 2011, and I am getting so nervous! Did you get an email or a mailed letter to let you know?
  10. I also applied for Jan 2011 and have heard nothing yet except that we should hear back in late sept. Good luck to everyone that is waiting!!!
  11. Congrats Delousch!!! That is so exciting!! Thank you all for updating and good luck to everyone!!:)
  12. Tulip and Sunshine, I finally received a letter to my house, but it was just the same form letter from the e-mail that we received with no additional information... I guess all we can do is keep waiting... Abosslet, I haven't heard anything from the PNP wait list yet, but I am not sure about the other specialties..
  13. hmmm, I wish there was easier way to get more information... as always, i'll definitely let you know if I hear anything, get a hold of anyone, or get the letter at home.. :)
  14. Sunshine, still no word for me. No one ever responded to the e-mail that I sent last week, and I have also tried calling, with no success, and the call went to voicemail both times. I have also not received a formal letter in the mail at all, have you?
  15. Sunshine, I will definitely keep you posted. If I don't hear anything by e-mail, I will try to call next Monday just to see what is going on. Have you or tulip heard of anyone that has actually been accepted at all?
