  1. I am currently working on a med-surg/orthopedic floor. I graduated last year in May. I have been applying everywhere looking for a different job, because my current one is sucking every ounce of happiness out of me. I can't stand my current job. I also work night shift and really need to get off it, because it's wearing me down physically. I have an interview next Tuesday with a small hospital for a cath lab position. I know it's a Monday-Friday 8-5 position. They don't take call, and only do diagnostic tests. They are looking to build their team. I believe she said they average 4 cases a day. It's a very small hospital and I know the experience wouldn't be like it would be in a big city hospital. The job sounds interesting and it's something different and fits all the criteria of a new job that I am looking for. Would this sound like an okay position for me to take, considering I'm still a little fresh out of school. I know med-surg is NOT for me. I just can't do this job that much longer. But I don't want to make the wrong choice when changing jobs! Any advice would be appreciated :)
  2. I don't really know what is going on right now. I went for the interview, and they actually sent me over to the clinic where I was interviewing with. I met with the clinic manager there and met one of the doctors. Now it's been 3 weeks and I haven't heard a word. I've followed up with them but still no word on their decision!! Would it take this long? Should I do more or just assume they aren't interested and move on?
  3. Hey all! I have recently applied to a staff nurse position at a local cancer infusion clinic (outpatient). They have several locations, and some are connected with hospitals. I recieved an email reply to my resume and in it was included a pre-screen questionnaire. It has about 40 questions, typical of what would be asked in a person-to-person interview. Just wondering if this typical? The email asks me to list dates available and times for an in-person interview with the nursing coordinator. It also states to answer the questions, submit, and follow up with the person who sent the original email. Then, the nursing coordinator will communicate with me further to schedule the interview. I REALLY REALLY want this to work out!! But afraid to get my hopes up I just know I need to get away from my current job, which is a med-surg/ortho floor in a busy hospital. It's taking a toll on me mentally and physically. Any suggestions of things I should mention to help my paper interview stand out?? Oncology is fascinating to me and I really want this oppurtunity to work in this field. Thanks ya'll for any input
