  1. Hello to all! I just wanted to let you guys know that I just attended the information session for Chamberlain School of Nursing here at Arlington, VA. I have a lot to write about; however, if anyone is curious about the Arlington campus, please let me know!
  2. The special agreement is that if one has an ADN through NOVA and have both NAS 161&162 as their route of science courses, then it is OK because they would have the ADN through NOVA. I'm not sure about other schools that my offer a class similar to NAS161&162. Momentum 2+1 is extremely attractive because of that "gauranteed spot" at the program. However, in my case, I have taken almost every pre requisite in the nursing curricula and would be sitting out for a long time before I get into nursing classes. Lots of space and time away from school = loss of concentration and forgetting material previously learned. I mean, one CAN do it. One may be able to just review and study for that period of time, however, time lost is time you can never get back. However...traditional..you would start right away this fall. Since I am in a similar situation as you.....I'm thinking if I do the traditional...I would stay in school until I get a BSN. Meaning...as soon as I graduate, pass the NCLEX, then look for a RN-BSN bridge. It doesn't necessarily have to be at Mason. I see NOVA having numerous schools coming over to promote their bridge programs. Having an ADN alone gives one a huge advantage.
  3. I am so happy to read I am not in this alone! Good luck to you guys! Hope everything turns out the way you want it to! Are you both in Accelerated programs? I applied to the traditional program.
  4. Hey Scarlett..just wondering- did you get anything directly from the School of Nursing at GMU? or just the GMU University itself? The Orientation stated that you had to get in both GMU and the Nursing school. One of my friends who attends GMU, stated that letters should be coming out this week or next week.
  5. Hey! I am going through the same thing you are going through. It's great that I am not alone on this matter. I too am studying for my TEAS exam as well and want to start this fall. I am also debating whether traditional or 2+1 is better for me. I feel like all of that time gap of no school will get to me, any thoughts? Glad I found your post! dsb26
  6. Hello to all! I was just wondering if there were any students in the Northern VA area that applied to any of the GMU nursing programs for the 2010 cycle. Has anyone received an acceptance letter to the nursing program? Traditional, RN-BSN or Accelerated- It doesn't matter which program, I would really like to see if there are any other people out there who are in sort of the same boat as I am. I called the nursing department a few days ago and they said that they should be mailing them out any time this April. Also, I asked her about my status but she said their system was down..so that's unfortunate. Anyways, it would be great to hear from anyone. Ok, thanks for your time! :) dsb26
