  1. Hello thanks for all of your advice....Im not limiting it just occ or macomb but it would be easier for me with those two locations and what not....Also the prices lol. Anyway I went to macomb and talked to them all of my classes transfer which i got a's in....But I do have to take two more classes...I was pretty set on going their but I had some concerns about the hesi....I took the NET at baker and am a little nervous because i hear there alot alike and I took the NET twice and the best I could do was an 80 because I read to slow on the reading comprehension part lol... :-( I would always run out of time before being able to answer all the questions....I Just cant figure out what to do...I was looking at some of the required classes for OCC and it looks like id have to take alot more then two before actually moving on with the nursing program process...but I do like the fact that they take 200 students over 150 at macomb....Does anyone know how many times occ accepts nursing students a year...Like at baker they did 40 students twice a year.....But at macomb they only accept students once a year which is kind of a bummer...The counselor at macomb also said that I wouldnt be getting into the program until sep. of 2011 which seems so far away I just hate waiting it seems like such a waste of time ya know?
  2. Hello all, Im transfering from baker college to either OCC or Macomb....I was just looking for some opinions on each....and which school was easier/quicker to get into their nursing program...I dont want to waste anymore time!!! lol Please give me some opinions/advice...It would be greatly appreciated. Thanks Jessica.
  3. Hey! Umm I have 18 points as of now and a possible 3 more if I am eligible for nontransfer points??? wich would bring me up to 21 but I heard the lowest points in for this year or last year was 23 ...I had to retake three classes so that really screwed me over because I missed out on those three points. I just wanna get in somewhere quickly I just had a baby and need to get things going ya know?...MCC doesnt seem to bad maybe I should try there. I have read about OCC and am not sure I like the way they do things....Have u thought about the LPN bridge thing? I'm not really sure what it is but Ive read a little bit about it and hope to not have to go that route lol. But anyway a friend of mine told me she got a 91 on the net and had a 3.8 gpa so I'm just pretty sure I wont get in...Idk!
  4. Hey Anne... I don't have 15 posts yet so they won't let me private message. Anyway so are u going for nursing at occ? and also the classes you named off...are those the classes I would need for the nursing program or the LPN program ....because I have taken all those classes at baker??? Or did u mean those are the classes that don't transfer and I would have to redo them? Sorry this stuff is confusing/annoying :-(
  5. I'm not sure but for all the pre reqs we had to get a b- or better and I got C+'s and had to retake them for both A&P 1 and 2. I'm just nervous I don't want to waste time I just had a baby so I gotta start thinking about money. Do either of you know a school that accepts bakers classes if I were to transfer...? I live around OCC but I dont know anything about their nursing program. I also have heard some stuff about if u plan to stay at baker but don't get into the program you can do the LPN program and then bridge it or something?
  6. Alright Thanks a lot.:)
  7. Hi guys, I don't think I'll be getting into Bakers Nursing program (Clinton Township) after adding up all of my points. I'm trying to weigh out my options, and if I end up transferring from Baker I need to know which schools are best and which ones accept the most credits from baker. I want to retake as few classes as possible :-) Also any advice of what to do if I decide to stay at Baker would be appreciated!! Thanks, Jessica
  8. Ok...Thank you so much!! That helped a lot....(Just to make sure I'm doing it right) when you say to add each individual class's GPA.....Lets say you get a B in A&P you would count that as 3.0 points right??? If I did it right I have about 18 points which is horrible. I'm freaking out now....That means i would have to resubmit my score like 5 times just to get into a normal range ( and that's with the possible extra points) .....Do you have any suggestions for me if that's the case and are you already in the nursing program? Sorry I really could use some advice...I don't know anyone going for nursing at baker and the nursing office isn't too much help so I'm just trying to figure out what I should do! Thanks for your help again!
  9. Hello, I'm not quite sure how to use this website yet but I'll do my best lol. So I need to know how the point system works at Baker for the NET test/GPA/whatever! I don't understand it at all. My GPA right now is 2.8....I took the NET this past September at Clinton Township and scored a 76 I think....and I took it again today and I'm just trying to determine my odds of getting in with their little point system. Ive read other ppls forums saying they scored a 20 something on the NET with the point system and I'm just not understanding it. I also had to retake 3 classes so I know that counts against me a fair amount. If anyone has any information for me I would greatly appreciate it. I may have more questions too once I know what I'm talking about lol. The nursing office at baker has been very unhelpful!! Thanks guys!! Jessica
