  1. I was also accepted to Edison but chose FGCU because they had the BSN program. From what I hear FGCU has made a number of improvements to their program too and brought their NCLEX scores up quite a bit. It is a far commute for me (especially on clinical days) but I hope it will be worth it. No facebook yet....guess I need to catch up to the rest of the world!!!
  2. Hi Julie! I chatted with you preciously on another post about FGCU. I have decided to attend their BSN program starting in the fall too. I'm looking forward to starting classes and hope to meet some new people...didnt take many prereq's there so I dont know anyone yet! Melissa
  3. To the credit of FGCU, they were on probation (due to their prior poor passing rates) but have been released with a 10 year accred. I have been looking at both schools ad FGCU's total pass rate for the NCLEX for the last 3 quarters has exceeded Edison's. I do like the fact that you can go straight into the BSN program at FGCU but have also heard that Edison provides a little more clinical time.
  4. Here is the website. When you get there, scroll down to the quarterly results and select RN for whatever period you want to view. The totals for the last 3 quarters have exceeded Edison's. http://www.doh.state.fl.us/MQA/NURSING/nur_edu_info.html Good luck to you as well, Mel
  5. Thanks for the reply. I am also glad to be accepted somewhere. Edison does offer a BSN program but that is only available after you complete the associates program. I imagine that this would add at least a year or two of schooling...doesnt make much sense to me. Ive also looked at FGCU's recent NCLEX scores and they look pretty good - just as high or better than Edison. I am definitely leaning towards FGCU.
  6. Congrats on your acceptance. I too was accepted for the fall at FGCU. Right now I live in Port Charlotte and will commute so I am not looking for a roomate. Instead, I wanted to see if you had heard anything (good or bad) about FGCU's program? I have heard mixed reviews and unfortuntely do not know any current students to ask for their opinions. I have applied to Edison as well and am waiting to hear from them (but I think I will get in) and want to make the best decision on where to go. It would be great if you had any info to share. Good luck with the roomate search.
