  1. Congratulations to all of you who will interview in January, and best of luck! I got my rejection letter yesterday. I am a little disappointed, but as it was my first time applying, it wasn't surprising. Also, my online application still says "under review" for those of you who were asking.
  2. very excited it's up and ready! i am also wondering how long the personal history statement should be. that is something i did not plan for during these two months of limbo, but i have everything else ready to go.
  3. I don't know how long the letters of recommendation are supposed to be, but they are the part I'm most worried about. I asked my letter writers far in advance with the expectation they would receive instructions from the school in June (when the application period was supposed to open). Now we're heading to the end of July and I'm afraid they are going to think all this waiting is a reflection of me. I'm sending them updates every few weeks on the nil status of the process, so hopefully they don't think I'm a total flake. Is it too much to expect that UCSF will have a brief apology/explanation for the holdup when they email our letter writers?
  4. Hi, Is there anyone lurking who is planning to apply to the 2011 program? I have spent the last 12 years in financial marketing/communications and am excited to try and change paths into nursing. I am currently taking my prerequisite courses at city college- stats and anatomy/physiology- and going in for the GRE Saturday. I'm volunteering at a children's hospital, which is causing me to consider the pediatric nurse practitioner track... I know UCSF is very competitive and it's a long-shot for someone like me to get in, but I feel like I have to try! If it doesn't happen next year, then I'll just keep building my volunteer experience and re-apply. Also on my mind is that if for some miracle I were to get in how I would pay for it. But enough about me... what are some other candidates' takes on preperation, interests, anxieties, etc?
