  1. It depends WHERE in Florida. Florida should literally have 2 states, a North FL and South FL, lol. I was born and raised in South Florida and I'm on my way getting out of here and NEVER coming back. What GOOD: The diversity of AUTHENTIC food!!!! The beach...and that's about it. What's BAD: There's only 2 seasons- Hot and Hurricane. People are selfish and self-centered. It's all about being tan and whoever can buy the best car, clothes, or jewelery. People have no consideration for others, even something as simple as saying "Thank you" for anything!!! A majority of my friends are also on the same boat as me....on our way moving out of here and never coming back. It seems like for a majority of SoFL there's a decent amount of crime, always lock everything down here. I actually have 3 locks on my front door, and if it wasn't for the 2 additional locks I would've already lost everything since a burglar almost got in. People from my family have been gun-pointed at at their own business and have been robbed numerous of times in Fort Lauderdale. Public education is very bad here, with a few exceptions of course. I remember in middle school there was at least (hence, at LEAST!) 2 fights every week. I had to go to the school board numerous of times to get into a better school for high school, and until this day I am still grateful for that. I guess I didn't turn out too bad from being raised down here, lol, but I know I could've been something better if I did not grow up here. I take many trips up North every year and it's like a breather from all the "pollution" from the society here. I'm sorry I'm just ranting now. I'm at the point where I want to save everyone from making a mistake of their lives by moving to Florida, South FL at least. I guess it ultimately depends on your interests; if you like shopping, clubbing, and tanning then this is the place for you. It seems like people have less hobbies down here, besides from what I just said a moment ago. In summary, WEST Florida is BEAUTIFUL, it's less "hip" than SouthFL. Gainesville (GO GATORS!) is it's own college town. It's a super awesome school. Orlando (UCF) is another great place. There's a lot of theme parks and farmer markets. Tallahassee is another college town on its own. Key West is a tourist/vacation spot. If you decide to live anywhere in South Florida, just be safe and don't trust anyone.
  2. Hey schick672! Thanks for the reply and tips! I'm graduating from Florida Atlantic University. How about you? Are you getting a degree when you apply to? If so, from what school? Yes, I recall looking into Drexel... I just don't have a few pre-reqs, such as Ethics and Communication. I will keep looking!
  3. I'll be applying to JHU traditional early decision for Fall 2011! I'm excited endure through this application process with you all too! I'll be graduating with my B.S. in neuroscience this Spring 2011 and finishing up the last pre-reqs too! I'll be applying to a couple schools too, such as Emory, U of Wisconsin, Purdue, and Thomas Jeff. U. I just recently decided to go for nursing this month, so this is exciting! I've been an animal nurse/technician for the last 3 years...so that's my only experience in the health industry, but I plan on volunteering at a hospital next month! I'm currently sitting at a 3.5 GPA, in the middle of a paid internship, and have close to 800 service hours. I'm hoping for the best since I do wish my GPA was a bit higher before applying. I'll be applying very soon...I can't wait!! does anyone suggest any other accredited schools to apply to that don't require any tests? Does anyone know if JHU is rolling admissions? Any other advice before applying? Best of luck to all!!
  4. Does anyone know if Azusa will take Public Speaking course in lieu of their public communication pre-requisite? I'm trying to find a course at my school that fits the appropriate requirements...any help is greatly appreciated!
  5. When is the best time to take admission tests in preparation for Summer 2011 accelerated BSN programs? When is the best time to apply for the schools? (not nursing but the actual school before applying to their nursing program) I -just- decided to go into nursing last week. Thankfully a lot of pre-reqs are covered from my current major! I would really appreciate any help and guidance. Thank you very much!
