Ivy Tech 'Fall 2010' Applicants
At the ASN information session, it sounded like letters were out and their orientation was next week. I believe the cutoff was 188.

You really need to calm down. I can completely relate with how those people feel, and I was accepted into the program. I'm not saying that there is anything wrong with having to retake a class to earn an A, but IVY TECH should have some way of counting points to reflect that a class was taken twice. For example, if an A is received on the first attempt, then 30 points should be given. If an A was received on the second attempt, then perhaps 25 points should be given. Everybody has issues with the system, and as of right now, there is nothing that can be done about it. But seriously, if they want to vent, then let them.

So when people refer to the Indy or Lawrence campus, does it mean it's the same campus??? I'm so confused about this part (being that I'm from the northern part of the state.)

Sorry Janex, but I called today and they said letters won't be mailed out until next week. So it's looking like Wednesday at the earliest ....

It wasn't that different from nursing. The four main prereqs are required along with chem and micro. So six grades are taken into account on the same point system the nurses use (180 total possible). The TEAS is required, but it's only used as a tie breaker. (You also don't have to get a certain score on the TEAS to qualify.) The program is fairly new at the South Bend campus (just been around for two years) so maybe some of the other campuses will see the program pop up before lone.

Today I was accepted into the dental hygiene program at the South Bend campus!!! I am super excited that I got in (they only take 15 students and over 100 applied.) I'm still waiting on my nursing letter though I would much rather be a nurse and dental hygiene was my "back up"....so now I get to play the waiting game even more... So maybe tomorrow will be the big day???!!!

Ivy Tech 'Fall 2010' Applicants
Bad news for all my SBers out there, but someone emailed me this morning and said letters won't be mailed until June 1st!! So I'm not sure who is right, but it looks like we will be waiting until next Tuesday at the earliest (since the *******' mail won't run on Monday). I also asked if she knew when orientation would be, and she said she didn't have that information, so no luck in that department either.

Erin, which campus are you taking chemistry at? If you are taking it online through SB, then don't sweat it. It is actually very basic chemistry and is not difficult at all. Simple math and you don't have to memorize the periodic table. I took it last summer along with Comm 102, and was able to get A's in both. There is a lot of "busy" work involved with all your "late nite labs" but you should be just fine :)

My score was a 212. I tried calling last week, but all us SBers know how friendly and informative the health sciences receptionist is.... needless to say, I have no idea when the letters will be mailed.

Crossing my fingers for the South Bend acceptance letters !!! (My mail doesn't arrive until around 3:30, so these daily torture rituals suck!!)

Ivy Tech 'Fall 2010' Applicants
I just read on the Ivy Tech discussion board that there were 190 applicants at the Lafayette campus and the RN ranges were from 216 to 207. So you are so close!!! Hopefully a few people will drop and you will be sure to get in from the wait list! Congratulations for your acceptance!

The South Bend campus is about 2 miles away from my house, so I really lucked out on that one. I do wish I would have had the sense to apply to the Valpo campus as well. I had no idea that the competition was going to be as steep as it is, and I am not so sure I'll get in anymore. I thought I was a sure thing at first with my score, so I didn't even apply for the LPN program, but now that I know that there were over 500 applicants for 50 spots in South Bend, my confidence is diminishing rapidly...

I plan on moving to Knoxville once I'm done with nursing school (assuming I get in). ....getting ahead of myself perhaps :)

I don't even think you "have" to have your college transcripts on file by the application date UNLESS you plan on using a prereq that was taken at a school other than Ivy Tech.

Ivy Tech 'Fall 2010' Applicants
I am officially freaking out! My friend went to the final information session on 3-31 at the South Bend campus, and evidently the instructor conducting the session said that there were already 450 applications turned in (and they only accept 50 students)!!! My confidence levels have now dropped even more. Does anyone else know if these South Bend numbers are accurate? Has anyone heard of the number of applicants at the other campuses?

There are Ivy Tech message boards? Where can I find those at?

207 sounds like a good score to me! (Congrats on the lab exams too!) What campus are you applying to again? As for the nerves, I feel the same way. It seemed like there wasn't much to the application (which makes it seem like I'm omitting something)

On the transcript I submitted I actually highlighted the four pre-requisites, just to they didn't accidently look at my Purdue grades (which are on my transcript). I just hope I gave everything that I was supposed to. It didn't seem like I handed much in, so it makes me nervous that I forgot something. I think I will run into Ivy Tech on Monday and pick up a copy of the LPN application too. The cut off for the RN program last year in South Bend was a 189 (according to the rumor mill.) They are expecting a lot more applicants this year, since the economy is the way it is, and so the cut-off score is going to increase. Eh, I hope my 212 will cut it.

I'm freaking out as well. Right now my nerves are on end thinking things like "what if my application accidently got tossed aside." I'm actually thinking about calling to confirm that my application was handed to the right person. Oh the nerves. I'm also thinking I should apply to the LPN program before the deadline hits. Oh what to do....

Is anyone in here applying to the South Bend campus? I'm going to turn in my application tomm. and am super nervous. I have a 212 total score, but I know the competition is steep...
