I would say that obtaining a CNA certificate is a good idea. You may want to wait and take the course over the summer or at a time when you are not in classes as you DO have clinical requirements as well as classroom requirements. Being a CNA is wonderful but not for everyone. However, it is a good way to learn if one is cut out for the nursing field as you will see first hand how it works and will be part of the Nursing Team. When it comes to finding jobs, it depends on where you want to work. For example, home care and LTC facilities are usually easy to find a position in. Hospitals, on the other hand, are usually looking for somebody with a year or so of CNA experience under their belt before hiring. All-in-all, it is not a bad descision to pursue CNA. I have enjoyed it a lot!
