  1. I'm a current pre-nursing student at a community college. I am taking my pre-req's right now and had originally planned to just go for my ADN at golden west or lbcc only because of the time it would save (as compared to immediately going for a bsn). ...
  2. Stanbridge College LVN Program Students

No problem, I really hope everything works out for you. I'm glad I could help, I know how nervous I was about making the right decision. Please let me know if you have any more questions.
  3. Hi! So I've recently decided on attending Stanbridge College for their LVN program. I looked at a few others, including Pacific, but decided on Stanbridge (for now). I like that their curriculum is RN based, rather than LVN based, and for the part ti...
  4. Stanbridge College LVN Program Students

Hi! So the $400 cost is to cover the price of the books they will be handing you once your orientation week is over. If your tuition is not going to be totally covered by grants or loans then I'm guessing you will be making monthly payments to the sc...
  5. Pacific College-Beware

Hello! So I feel it's very important to share some information I learned from a student & former teacher at Pacific College. My clinical instructer last term continually would mention her first time intructing LVN students and how lucky we were ...
  6. Going to Stanbridge College for LVN

I'm enjoying it, as much as you can enjoy being in nursing school! I work full time so I'm in the part time program, still in term 1. Academic wise I enjoy it, it's challenging, you have good books to work with. Of course though be prepared, in any n...
  7. Going to Stanbridge College for LVN

Their clinical sites are located for the most part throughout Orange County, from La Mirada to Orange, Costa Mesa, Santa Ana. They keep it more local than other schools. They do NOT include the Ipod anymore, they may or may not provide you with the s...
  8. Accepting this gift from a patient

I have to say, definitely DO NOT return. On your own accord at least. If your hospital says you must return it, then ask them to return it, and send another thank you note with an explanation of why you legally cannot accept it, or why the hospital h...
  9. It is expensive, but ALL private schools for a BSN will be around the same price. It's the price you pay for a faster track. The only way to avoid the cost is go through a community college and transferring.
  10. Going to Stanbridge College for LVN

Thank you! I start tomorrow, I'm excited. I never heard about the ipod though so that's interesting. How is the program going for you so far? I'm guessing today was your first day out of orientation? Did you guys get your scrubs yet? I hope it goes w...
  11. Going to Stanbridge College for LVN

They did push mine back, which I thought was strange. They called the friday before and said they are pushing it to June 2, when we were supposed to start May 17. They said it was due to students not getting their financial aid in on time and the fac...
  12. Going to Stanbridge College for LVN

Did they push your start date back as well? Mine was pushed to June 2.
  13. Anybody went to a Private lvn Program in LA, CA?

Understood, and congratulations on keep a job during these times. However to quote you- "Be aware that there are no LVN jobs for new grads in the Los Angeles area at the present time due to the sour economy." I understand it is being realistic to ack...
  14. Anybody went to a Private lvn Program in LA, CA?

You know I would really like to comment about everyone saying there are "no jobs" as a new LVN or RN grad. I personally feel it is projecting your own frustrations and attempting to ruin the outlook for newcomers in this world of new grads. I know MA...
  15. Going to Stanbridge College for LVN

That's weird. I just spoke with the financial aid advisor yesterday and she reassured me that my $400 will be returned once she receives my Sallie Mae loan (around june). She said that because my entire tuition is covered by loans and grants , and I...

I am extremely motivated so I think I can handle it...but can i ask you for an example of their admin problems?? Or your advice on this...... they told me I owe $400 the first day of intro class, which confused me because I have EVERYTHING covered by...

  20. Nobody wants a GVN?!

Knowing a few nurses I would say it's definitely NOT a good idea to apply before even passing the NCLEX. Put yourself in their position: why would you want to hire an anxious student who has yet to finish their program OR pass the NCLEX. It isn't log...

  22. So I went for admissions and a financial aid appointment. I really loved the Anaheim campus, and while costly, I wanted to go for it, especially because it was recently accredited by CCNE. The entire BSN program came out to be around $130,000...inclu...
  23. CCNE Accreditation is important???( Urgent )

To be frank, it needs to be accredited by CCNE or NLNAC.....if not you will be wasting your time AND money. Don't go to a school that's not accredited.....look on their websites and they have a list of schools that are accredited.
  24. For PIINK or anyone else going to WCU...I'm finding it impossible to get a response from anyone lol so hopefully someone will reply here..... Would you suggest the NOHO or Anaheim campus? I live in Orange County so Anaheim is closer for me but I've h...
  25. West Coast University BSN Program???

I would say from what I've heard doing the pre-reqs at a cc is the best idea if you want to go to WCU.......that being said, you also cannot ignore the fact at some community colleges, it is near impossible to get into the pre-req's. I was fortunate ...
