Wow jerziana, I can't believe that. They should have explained everything to you, and hopefully all that gets taken care of soon. I know I'm not going to have my lab coat on time (thats for sure) and are we allowed to wear the scrubs first semester as soon as we get them? I feel like I'm doing everything last minute and as if I'm missing stuff lol. I guess its just nova itself, but o well. Btw jerziana, which uniform store did you go to?

Hey guys, I start now this fall at the main campus, but I will be taking a couple classes at kendall too. I was ordering my lab coat online, and I put entry level nursing main campus under department. I'm in the Baptist scholar's program, but was that the right patch option? I didn't see any other one besides southwest, and the lady told me that one is the ft.myers campus. Did you guys do the same?? By the way, any of you know what font the scrubs and lab coat are, I'm trying to look for somewhere cheaper, if possible lol... Although I ordered a couple today from both sites. The lab coat takes about three weeks, so who ever has not done it, you should go for it. :) I still have to buy my books lol...

Hey kristou, I like your way of thinking and planning about Nova and Baptist. I wish you the best and hope everything clicks in place for you. Make sure to do good on that last pre-req to keep that gpa up and you should maybe look into volunteering at Baptist if you want so you can put it on your resume. Plus it will be pretty cool to become more familiar with your future hospital and maybe get to know others there . Goodluck!! And props on finding that info about memorial hospital, very helpful for everyone... I know I would definitely be looking into it as 2nd option to help financially and to know I will have a set job after, not bad at all. :)

Wowww! Congrats to those who have gotten accepted now and later to Nova and to those who have gotten accepted into BHSP! I received my phone call as well, and it was to notify that I will be receiving the approval letter! WOO, I am so excited to start this program and to grow with you all, we will be hitting those books hard ha! I dont know what I would of done if I didn't find this site where I can communicate and see that other students were going through the same feelings lol. I hope to meet you all and wish us the best for these upcoming years . Well yea I'm in the process of making my payments now and I know that $250 is due by friday 7/16, what do you all think about insurance though? Ive got my own insurance now (NHP), should I just fill out the waiver form or should I go with the schools (Blue cross)? GO CLASS OF 2012!!

hey jerziana, I think you should be good, stay positive :). We will be finding out about that soon. But no, I was accepted for main campus, yea the ft. myers campus is way too far for me plus they dont work with Baptist.

Kristou, I'm glad I was able to help you and then you were able to confirm. Giggles comment on pg 44 was very helpful since its current about who and when Baptist will be giving scholarships. Btw pink nurse, when you printed the parking decal form, did yours say it expires sept 1 2010? I couldnt find any other form to print so maybe they will just ignore that. I'm paying the $500 this week since I received my packet late but do you by any chance what the two possible schedules we will be having for the our first semester will be? Thanks in advance.

Have any of you heard back from Baptist after your interviews? I'm waiting on that now, but I feel I did a pretty good job. :) Fingers crossed...

Hello Kristou, I saw how you needed some help with the Baptist Application for NSU either winter (Jan) 2011 or fall 2011. Well I found out through Baptist that they will not be giving scholarships to Nova students for Winter term anymore, apparently they had to come up with a bugdet agreement. However, at least you can now narrow down your choice to applying to Barry and to Nova for Fall 2011 and then play your cards right and go with whomever accepts you. Goodluckkkk!

Hey mari7319, Congratulations on getting accepted! Im planning on applying to NSU but for the next deadline. I have the same gpa as you but in my transcripts I have only one repeated class (my first semester of college), I was curious if you had the same case by any chance? Im planning to apply after June 18 before the Oct. 1st deadline, so I will be applying a good couple months before. That means I should find out earlier hopefully (even though I saw how disorganized they have been) in order to apply for the BHSP. I wish you the best with that, I know it must be very nerve wrecking, but just be yourself and be confident. Let me know how it goes :) GOODLUCK!!

At least they got to view it and now they're just putting it on hold until you finish MCB, they could have made a decision right there you get me, at least thats good. Wow all these tests, why so harddd lol gosh. But hey think positive, its good to look for different options though. Its a smart thing to do since at the sametime we are being realistic and having our plans A,B, and C. Do your best now in MCB, I'm sure the gpa will pick up but remember think about how many applicants will be having between your gpa and the minimum 2.7. Lots so look at it like that By the way, can I IM you, was curious about that question someone else had asked just to have an idea but regardless wouldnt have a problem working with them lol and I think I might know your boss too. If she is the one I am thinking, I got to know about being able to apply for NSU because of her lol.

Hi jerziana29, I hope they do not add that test for the future because definitely like you said, I don't believe those test measure what abilities we may have as a nursing student. So they are going to add that exam for MDC, wow I didn't know that. Do you know if its just for the generic program? I am going to apply NSU's like I said before but will be applying also at MDC's for the Jan 2011 class just in case. I am doing it through the transitional program though since I'm paramedic certified, but really hope they do not add more requirements. So you are finishing one more pre-req this semester, thats good. I have a couple friends who are doing the same. Just send your transcripts right after asap, but I think you should be good. Hey class ends in only a month, I'm sure lots of people are in the same boat as you too. If anything keep calling every so often to see what is NSU's status with letters they have sent back etc. Do you go to MDC also? I'm also taking micro this semester. Well yup hang in there!

Hey Mvaz003, that was great information about your meeting with the advisor. Thanks for sharing with us and I'm sure everyone else is thankful for it too. :) By the way, Mari7319 I totally get what you are saying about the w and f and how it happened in the whole college attempting time lol, I have something similar in my transcripts too and you can definitely see the difference from that first semester on until now. For instance, in my transcripts I have a 3.52 but in that 1st sem at MDC which is where I am still attending now I got a D in one class which has been my only one but got a B the next term when I repeated that same class. No W's, so thats good. As for my case, I got 2 pre-reqs to complete in the summer. They told me I can still apply for the Fall class but my application will not be processed until I finally complete those classes and they receive my transcripts showing the grades, which I believe will be too late. Sooo, I feel its going to be too crazy to apply for this term including knowing that there are 20 people who have already been accepted. Thats why I'm planning to apply for the next deadline Oct 1st for the January 2011 class. Stinks because I would of loved to start in Fall with all of you, but I think I will have a better chance of getting in at NSU and applying without any classes needing to completed. Well, goodluck and I think we will be good with those old classes, I'm sure they're going to see the difference and notice our dedication from then on. I'm going to keep on seeing what is the status you all are in so I will have a better idea when I finally apply. Stay Positive! Point is, this is what we want to do, and we are all going to get it done, some of us are going to take longer than others or might end up doing it at another school but heyyy we are going to be nurses lol!

Yea I hope they won't concentrate on gpa too too much. I get nervous with interviews too but at the sametime they do help, so they can be able to see the type of person we are. Well at least you all now know so it wont be too unexpected.

Hey guys, so im new to this and decided to sign up b/c it actually helps trying to get a better insight of information through all of us communicating with our process now or in the past. I wish you the best of luck with the application process with NSU. I am planning to apply, but Im going to have to wait for the next deadline Oct. 1st.(Jan 2011) since I have to finish two classes in the summer for them. Anyways I have been calling Nova and wanted to let you guys know there is no more interview. They told me this is new for the upcoming class. If you guys have any other info, or how it has been going for you, let me know :)
