  1. i am interested in several things . i work a community hospital that has a general med surg peds floor 10 bed no picu. If those of you could answer who work at a similiar setting no picu in your faclity. thanks 1. at what age are your pediatric code blues called for? 2. do you have a seperate code blue documentation form for adult codes and pediatric codes? 3.what is the definition of a pediatric patient at your facility to follow pediatric policies? thank you tiffany kidd msn.rnc ccrn,cpen

Has anyone heard of or seen any evidence base literature related to the use of a red flashilight insterad of the traditional white light for hourly night rounds . i was told by a father that had a hospitalized child that the red flash light caused less disturbance of the sleep pattern. anyone with experience in their faclity or heard of this? thanks
  4. thanks for the response. Actually i am more interested in use/effects not how to give but any expereince in therapuetic effects of hypertonic saline neb 3%. before and after effects on peds pt and any side effects expereinced from your pts for example bronchospasms, c/o throat pain, effects on lungs that are not chronic lungs ( Like cf) normal healthy lungs and any residual effects later on, thinning of mucus with easier suction etc. thanks
