  2. i really want to join the navy nurse corps, but im not quite sure as to how to get there and which is the best path for me. im taking pre-reqs at a community college in california planning on transfering after i finish. currently i have been really considering going into a nrotc program at a university, (which university? i have no idea lol) so i just have a couple questions about it. 1. this is what the navy's website says: "naval reserve officers training corps (nrotc): apply for this competitive scholarship program before attending college. you can fill out an online application at https://www.nrotc.navy.mil/apply.aspx . if you are awarded a scholarship, you can choose from a participating college and take a normal course load. graduate and be commissioned as an officer in the u.s. navy." so, my question is, (see underlined bold) if i got the scholarship i could pick any college and just get in, skipping the entire applying/admission part for the college? or do i still have to apply to the school after i win the scholarship? 2. if i dont get the scholarship, but still go ahead and join nrotc, can i still do the nurse commisioned program? or would i have to choose between nrotc (pay for college myself) or nurse candidate program? 3. i want to be a navy nurse commisioned officer, so if i get into a nrotc program choosing nursing as a major, does that automatically put me into a nursing program at the college? (sorry, that may seem like a stupid question, but i'm so confused my head is spinning. ) 4. okay lets say that i get accepted into a university and the nrotc program but i dont get accepted into the nursing program there, what would happen? 5. how hard is it to get accepted into the nrotc program? 6. do you have to get the scholarship inorder to be in the nrotc program? 7. as you know i would be a transfer student from a california community college. okay so lets say im applying to university of utah, i want to be in the nrotc program and the nursing program. when i'm doing the application for the university, is there a box i check for "nrotc and nursing program"? is it like i would get in "all-or-nothing"?? (like i would get into the nrotc program and the nursing program, or none at all if i didnt qualify for one of the programs) does that make sense???? erggg haha im sure alot of those questions are dumb, but any help would be great. thanks in advance! any information would be greatly appreciated! thanks!!!!!!!! kota

  4. I'm currently at a community college in California and I want to transfer to a University (kinda leaning towards SDSU) for there BSN program. How does the whole process work? I FIRST get accepted into the university, then apply to the nursing program? What if i get in the school, but not the nursing program? I'm SO confused. If anyone would clarify this whole process that would be really great. Hows SDSU's program overall? Whats the acceptance rate? Thanks! Kota.
  5. Thanks everyone for your great advice! Much appreciated! Love Kota.
  6. Hello! a little background before i ask the real questions, lol. My mom is a single-mother, and i am a twin. My twin and i are currently going to a community college because money is really tight and she can barely afford this. I really want to get my BSN, but obviously money is a issue and i cant afford to go to a university to do so. I also really want to go into the service, Navy or Air Force. idk yet. So, what would be the best way of getting my BSN? Doing the NROTC program (can you explain a little what this is)? Nurse candidate program? (how much do they actually pay for your schooling? Student loan repayment? Any Military nurses out there!? How did you do it? Please explain the steps and ANY extra information would be GREATLY appreciated! Thanks so much! Love, Kota
