Is this abandonment?
I gave them a couple days notice and I did apologize to them. I just found out that they have been written up several times over other things they have done and the patients they gave me have not been seen by their other nurses in over 2 weeks. They just wanted a Spanish speaking nurse at any cost but if they dont have one, shouldnt they send a nurse anyway?

Is this abandonment?
Yes I know it is unprofessional on my part and I feel very bad but I have never even met the patient. Arent you suppose to meet first to see if you are comfortable with each other? I was also rushed through orientation just because they needed a Spanish speaking nurse. I am going to send them their papers and just hope they dont report me to the BON. :imdbb:

Is this abandonment?
Hi, I am a new grad who was hired by a home health agency. They gave me 2 patients to go visit. One was for 2x a week and the other 3x a week. The first patient is in the hospital so I couldnt go see her. When I checked the address of the 2nd patient, he was more than 30 miles from my home so I decided that this job was not for me because the patients are all too far from my home and it just isnt worth it. I called in and left a message saying I would rather not work for them because the patients are too far. They called back and left me a message saying to return the paperwork stating the patients info (which I will do first thing tomorrow) and that what I did was abandon my patients. Can I get in trouble for this?

New Graduate LVN Offered Home Health Position but, Scared
I graduated in Nov. 2009 and my first job was also in home health and my very first patient was a 2 year old who had a trach, g-tube, etc. I was very nervous as well but if I had a question, the mom would tell me and I learned everything that same day and after that, the mom was very happy to see that I had gotten everything down so well. Dont be afraid, before you know it, you'll be a pro!

How much does Adult Day Care pay LVNs?
I have an interview tomorrow for an Adult Day Care which is 3 minutes away from where I live and they said they need a Spanish bilinigual nurse so thats why they contacted me. I am currently working in home health but only 2 days a week so Im looking for a more stable job. My question is... how much do they typically start lvns in adult day cares? Anyone in CA work in an adult day care that might know? Thankyou.

New Grad hired by home health
I was just hired today by a home health agency but Im quite confused... they only require me to go to one patients home for 8 hours and give meds, chart, progress notes etc. My question is... anybody out there work in home health like this? Only for one patient? And what do you do all day after you give meds, etc? Im a lil nervous too as this will be my first job and Im going to be alone with a patient.
