  1. Hiya, Just trying to get as much info as possible and clarifying. You say it's difficult to get into children's PICU even with prior PICU experience?
  2. From PICU, they said HR is way behind, so they wanted to call people themselves to make them aware of the offers. I'm not sure if the other departments are doing this just yet..
  3. they started making phone calls!!! :)
  4. not yet.. anxiously waiting! will keep ya posted!
  5. I think by the end of next week for sure. No idea how many people they interviewed, but I think it was a lot and from all over. Will keep you posted. You hear anything?
  6. The population was interesting, hem/onc complications, cerebral palsy complications, hypoxic ischemic encephalopathy (HIE). The staff were super nice and seemed really happy to have students there. This was all in the PICU of course....
  7. It went so well! Everyone there was really nice and the environment felt so good:)
  8. You shadow a nurse on the unit for about five hours, to get a feel of the unit while I assume they get to feel out you.
  9. I think you've done all the following up that is appropriate. A lot of times these things just require patience. I am actually going for a shadowing on the unit this week. Very excited since the hospital is so impressive. Did you guys get to shadow after an interview as well?
  10. did you have your interview? how did it go?
  11. Just talked to HR... they are scheduling over 200 slots... are arranging interviews for in state people first, then moving on to out of state. So they should be getting back to us soon....
  12. Weird, have you tried calling or anything? What do you think we should do? It's been over 2 weeks.
  13. That was a phone interview? I emailed them back and still haven't heard about the 'initial' phone interview. Do you suggest that I call. Are other people still waiting to hear about arranging a phone interview appointment?
  14. critical care...be yourself, let your passion come through for emergency care of children....they didn't ask any difficult questions, just about why you are interested, etc... super nice! good luck and let me know how it goes!
  15. hi-- i had an interview the other day... i wasn't told it was a preliminary one though...do you know of 16 personally that are being screening as well--or were you told that at some point.... Anyways, the staff i spoke with during the interview were not only really friendly, but incredibly informative and made me feel comfortable. Good luck and let's keep each other posted!
  16. did you have your interview already? I just had mine, but it wasn't a 'preliminary' one as far as I know....i'm also from really far away. Anyways, how did it go? I heard they aren't making decisions for about 2-3 weeks....
  17. nope. sent mine tuesday....
  18. has anyone else been hearing from UCLA? Are we supposed to get a rejection letter?
  19. Does anyone know if they are only sending out one email about interviews?
  20. are most of you guys licensed already?
  21. she isn't.. but not because of the GPA.. because she doesn't want to be in LA... funny right?
  22. to P62208 ..i dont remember the exact thread, but remember reading that topic at some point a few months ago.... are you a local student/applicant?
  23. from what that other quote said, it was 'local' applicants... my friend got one, she has a 3.2 gpa and prior experience, but lives in the area....
