  1. OMG, I never heard of Walla Walla University Nursing program. I am kind of sad I didn't apply. It looks really nice and the tuition is so much more affordable. =(
  2. Hi, I have been accepted to Linfield's acc. program and UP's spring cohort and rejected by OHSU. After reading this forum, linfield has gotten great endorsements but nothing was said about UP. I am not very farmiliar with either schools. Can someone from UP comment on their nursing program. Thanks!
  3. Nope, no word yet. I hope we hear soon!!
  4. Lady143 - Thanks a ton! smASHthis - Yes I also have been admitted to UP. But still unsure where I want to go, but I am leaning toward OHSU. Unfortunately, I didn't receive a call from admissions so chances are probably slim. I called OHSU and they said that not all admitted students were called and that the letters for Acc. program were sent yesterday.
  5. I just got my acceptance to Linfield's 2010 summer cohort..yay!!! Per my conversation with Linfield's admission office, the Accelerated program's acceptance letters were sent 2 days ago and the Fall cohort will be sent on the first of April.
  6. Thanks AshniPerpetua, your so sweet! Good luck to everyone!
  7. GVTA - Congrats to you too!! Yes, I am a transfer student as well. I ask, because I am curious what criteria they used to separate us into two different cohorts, because I start in the Spring. I think its because I am not done with my pre-reqs till the end of Spring term, whereas many other applicants applied with their pre-reqs done. Who knows!! I am just happy we are in!!! =) If I decide on UP, I am going to ask if I can start in the Fall.
  8. GVTA did you apply as a transfer student?
  9. Congrats lady143!!! What criteria does UP use to admit some students in the fall versus the spring?
  10. Hi smASHthis, I am not sure yet. I am keeping an open mind about which school I will attend. I applied to Linfield, OHSU, MHCC and PCC. I am in the Spring cohort. However I would prefer to start in the Fall. Which cohort are you in?
  11. Congrats smASHthis!! I also have been admitted to UP! I am so excited!! Dohgirl - I have a 3.9 GPA, a B.S. in Actg and have a few years of professional business experience. I have no medical experience and my pre reqs will be done at the end of Spring term. To set myself apart, I made the few short application questions into essays that I hoped would distinquish myself from other applicants. The questions per the application were: 1. In a few sentences, please describe your most rewarding work or volunteer experience. 2. Describe how you first became interested in attending University of Portland. 3. What was the most important factor in your decision to apply to the University? I spinned each question in order to convey that I was an investment for their program. I used unconventional reasoning. I never mentioned that I was a caring person, nor that I wanted to help others. Instead I argued that based on my experiences (both personal and professional) I could bring something unique to the nursing profession. Hope this helps!!
  12. Nothing here either.....
  13. March 20th is our interview!! Thanks for the encouragement!! I hope everyone on this forum makes it and we can all become study buddies!!!
  14. Just out of curiosity, what other schools did yall apply to? I applied to: UP OHSU Linfield MHCC PCC
  15. Ashni - YAY :) I am so happy for you!!! Congrats!!! I checked the mail and didn't receive anything!!
