  1. But the ANA supports collective bargaining correct?
  2. House supervisors do cover the ED. All ED nurses are ACLS and PALS. No ER nurses are NALS. Why should a HS be required to have NALS if no one else does?
  3. If the hospital no longer has and OB department or a Peds department is it necessary for a house supervisor to be PALS and NALS certified? What would you say to the CNO who is demanding it?
  4. If one of the bylaws for the ANA is to promote collective bargaining, wouldn't the ANA be a union? If hospital administrators knew that nursing leaders were ANA members wouldn't that be a conflict of interest particularly when HCA don't want unions in their hospitals?
  5. Our OB department is closing. Should nursing supervisors now need to be NALS and PALS certified when they have never needed to be before just in case a patient arrives at the ED and delivers when the ED nursing staff is not NALS certified but are only PALS and ACLS certified?
