  1. Hi, I'm looking for the best place to get my RN in Columbus, OH, and I applied at Columbus State. I have a Bachelor's Degree, and I was expecting to be able to stop working and attend classes full time working towards my RN. Then I found out that it's almost impossible to get financial aid if you have a bachelors degree; I don't even qualify for federal loans. I don't have good credit, so a personal loan from a bank is out, and I didn't finish with a great GPA when getting my Bachelor's, so I don't meet admissions criteria for any of the accelerated programs like MCCN or Capital. Questions: Do any nursing schools in Columbus offer financial aid to people with Bachelor's degree's? Does anyone have any suggestions of what I can do to get financial help? I've considered getting a PCA/STNA job with tuition reimbursement, but I'm not sure how hard it is to get these jobs and if I could cover the cost of school that way? Thanks so much for your help!

  3. Hi, I'm going to be starting pre-nursing courses in the summer and working towards my RN. I'll be taking classes full time, but I need to work while in school. I'll need a job, either full or part time, where I can bring home around $1200/month (about $300/week). I'm thinking CNA, or trying to get a nanny or preschool teaching job? My husband would prefer that I do something like waiting tables or retail, but I really want to start getting some patient care experience ASAP. What do you guys recommend? What types of jobs are you working while in school? Thanks!
