  1. hi. i just need your expertis on this. is there anyone here who pay AHPRA using money order from Philippines? is it possible? how dd you do it? thanks...
  2. its expensive really expensive. but VCHN is very accomodating. sometimes they are strict in assessments and exams but they will always give you a chance to redo it so that you can pass it. theory part is just discussion and some procedures. but you will learn everything in your clinical placement. VCHN will help you. they will organize you from day 1 until the end...
  3. no need to certify your documents for VCHN you just scan the original then send it to them. the important thing is to pay your fees. when you get here in Oz they will certify your documents just show them the original and its free. so i think it will save your money a bit. i hope this helps....
  4. hi.. who will be attending the BP in VCHN perth campus on monday (january 24)? any classmates here? when is your flight? thanks...
  5. yup you are right... im here in UK now. I have my decision letter from NMC but then i cannot go to adapatation as i cannot find any employer. it is very hard here to get an employer and harder to get work permit as they prioritize EU rather than us. From september 2010 i think if im not mistaken nurses from EU doesnt need any exam to practice nursing here and they dont need work permit thats why employer in UK gets EU applicant rather than non-EU, easy processing and less expensive for the employer. NOw, NHS is not anymore offering adaptation for overseas nurses from non-EU. But there are some employers who still doing it but i dont know here they are hehe but i heard some news about it here. anyway just having you an idea. its hard here really hard. im not discouraging you but UK now is not the right place for overseas nurses, thats the truth. and as i heard on april 2011 cap immigration will be fully implemented this will limit each employer to provide sponsorship for work permit minimizing the entry of non-EU workers... anyway dont stop keep persuing your dreams whatever it is... Godbless
  6. i dont really know the answer to your question as i don't experience it. me, i separated it. i notorized the second set when i received my pack 2.
  7. hi there i will try my best to answer your question.. 1. yes you can count it, the prep and kinder, as long as you have the evidence that you complete it like diploma or certificate. in my case i don't take prep nor kinder school that's why in my application i just put 1- years on it. and its ok i got my decision letter. 2. school general education certificates to show length of schooling is the the diploma in elementary and high school although most of the diplomas or certificates do not indicate the length of schooling however NMC knows how many years to complete a general education in each country. for example in the Philippines they know that elementary is 6 years and high school is 4 years. You just have to show them your evidence of completion like what i mentioned above. also you will submit your diploma in college as the evidence of completion of you bachelor of science in Nursing. all documents to be sent to them should be notorized or certified true copy. i hope it helps you..
  8. absolutely no.. except for the courier cost..
  9. wow good to heart that i have a clasmate in january 2011.. i hope to see you all in Oz...
  10. hi count me in.. lol.. im in for VCHN on january 2011..
  11. yup your ER physician can signed it. the important thing about that is the official stamp of your hospital.. that's what they need..
  12. I am AHSE for 2 years and 2 years BSN.. i was then approved by NMC..
  13. the professional reference can be filled up bby you medical director.. documents to be notarized are passport, birth certificate, registration certificate, nursing diploma, highschool diploma, elementary diploma. a post registration experience requires 12 months full time or part time equivalent. this experience must commence after you are qualify as a registered nurse in your own country. how ever i cannot answer your question regarding clinic experience as a volunteer as NMC dont have specific rules for that. here is the rule which i quoted from NMC regarding post registration experience... Practice requirements When you apply you must have been practising as a registered nurse or midwife for at least 12 months (full-time or the part-time equivalent) after qualifying. Also, if you have been qualified for longer than this, you must have practised for at least 450 hours in the previous three years. If you do meet NMC requirements, but have not practised as a nurse for more than five years, you will have to take a longer version of the Overseas Nurses Programme. If you have not gained 12 months post-registration experience after you qualified as a nurse then you should not apply for registration.
  14. i wait 1 month for the decision letter...
  15. I started my college when I was 16 years and 2 months. I already received my decision letter (june 10, 2010) and there is no problem. The 17 years and 6 months that they are talking about is your age when you formally start your major subjects or your clinical exposure. Mostly in the Philippines, major subjects start in third year as well as clinical exposure. I submitted my elementary and high school diploma as evidence of my completion of my general education. dont worry NMC is aware of how many years in every country you have to complete your elementary and high school thats why you just have to show them your evidence of completion. Like Philippines it is known that elementary is 6 years and high school is 4 years. I hope this information helps you..
  16. PRC needs the original documents...
  17. you are qualified... yup you need to have authorization letter and your board certificate as well as PRC ID when processing your papers with PRC by your family...
  18. actually im here in UK now as student visa.. i start processing my papers last march 2010.. documents needed by NMC that to be processed in the Philippines were process by my relatives there. if you are in other country you can address you application to your present country and allow your relatives to process your paper in the Philippines.. for PACK 1 you need basic requirements like Diploma, passport, board certificate, birth certificate... you can request pack 1 using the internet... IELTS is required for you to have a PACK 1. for PACK 2 you need the same basic requirements like in PACK 1 (also diploma from high school and elementary are required), you need confirmation of registration from PRC, confirmation from your college where you graduated BSN and 2 separate referees. confirmation from PRC and from your school and from your 2 referees has form individually that to be filled up by the designated authorities/person and to be send by them directly to the NMC.. 2 referees might be your present/past chief nurse or senior nurse or head nurse etc which you work together for atleast 12 months and the other referee is for atleast 3 months... all my documents has been completed and received by NMC last May 16 2010.. according to them i need to wait for 2-3 months for my decision letter and in God ways i can undergo ONP/adaptation... Godbless us..
  19. keep it up Filipino Nurses.. I'm waiting now for the decision letter i already completed all the requirements of NMC i hope they will response immediately in my application.. go RN...
  20. im not sure if i will persue my application in VCHN this october 4. things change.. in other forum there are people who are currently taking their BP in VCHN.. im also waiting for their feedback... i also know 1 person who will take BP on oct 4 i that forum.. goodluck guys..
  21. hi im already here in the Uk as student visa.. i am currently processing my papers to NMC actually im waiting for the decision letter for me to undergo ONP. here are the two options to get a working visa in the UK as nurses after you are accepted by NHS or other employer like BUPA and if you already approved by the NMC. 1. if your qualification as a nurse is in the shortage list like NICU or theatre nurse then its an easy way to apply. according to UKBA you need to get 70 points to be qualified under Tier 2 (General) visa (work visa). offered job in the shortage list gives you 50 points, maintenance funds (800 pounds for 90 days cosecutive in your account) however your sponsor may waive this maintenance funds telling home office that they will sponsor you with that maintenance funds and this maintenance funds will give you 10 points, the when you passed you IELTS it will give you 10 points. you have a total of 70 points the you meet the requirements of home office under TIER 2 (General) work visa. 2. if your job offer is not on the shortage list you can still apply for Tier 2 as long as the job was advertise in the UK for 4 weeks and the employer can't find British or EU for that job then they will hire nurses outside UK and EU and they will give you certificate of sponsorship. here is the computation... your qualification, being a nurse in other countries like Philippines will give you 5 points. earnings should not be lower than 24,000 pounds per annum this earnings of more than 24,000 per annum will give you 15 points. then certificate of sponsorship from your employer will give you 30 points. maintenance funds is 10 points and IELTS is 10 points. all in all you still meet the requirements of the home office as you meet 70 points. (this is the reason why some nurses outside UK and EU can still have a Tier 2 visa) my former housemate here in UK was just approved by BUPA as nurse in their nursing home and give her sponsorship with salary of 25,000 pounds per annum. she just receive her visa last march 2010 after switching from Tier 4 (student visa) to Tier 2 (work visa). nurse in a nursing home is not on the shortage occupation list but it is possible to have a work visa even your job is not on the shortage occupation list as long as you have an employer who will sponsor you. use the point calculator in UKBA website. job market in UK is not good, really bad. actualy the truth is even in Australia, US, NZ job for nurses is not also good and that is the reality. but im not saying that it is impossibe its just hard to get a job here in UK but it is possible. so don't lose hope. patience is a virtue... Goodluck fellow nurses from all over the world.
  22. thanks blinq for this information.. Goodluck..
