CCAC Fall 2011
I'm pretty sure every part of the form is mandatory. Before you cross anything off, I would call the nursing secretary at your campus.

CCAC Fall 2011
ATTN: CCAC South Students: Hey! I created a Facebook Group Page for CCAC South Campus. Information and books seem to be pretty specific to each campus, so I thought it would be beneficial to have a place to post information and get help for South students. This is also for when school actually starts, and when people have questions about classes and assignments at South Campus. Hopefully we can help each other survive nursing school :) Here is the link for the CCAC South Nursing Student Page: http://www.facebook.com/?ref=logo#!/home.php?sk=group_204243859619455&ap=1 ---------------- If you are looking for general information for all campuses, sewnmom created a GREAT page where a lot of us have been posting information about getting physicals, clearances, uniforms, etc. If you are a South Student, I suggest joining this AND the one above for access to the most info! Here is the link for general information: http://www.facebook.com/?ref=logo#!/home.php?sk=group_192964237412811&ap=1 Thanks for creating that page sewnmom! I hope this will help everyone. Good luck with getting everything together, and I'll probably see most of you South Students at registration on June 15! :) CCAC South: http://www.facebook.com/?ref=logo#!/home.php?sk=group_204243859619455&ap=1 CCAC General: http://www.facebook.com/?ref=logo#!/home.php?sk=group_192964237412811&ap=1

CCAC Fall 2011
@sewnmom... You are going to South, right? If so, do you mind giving us a list of the books that they told you you would need? I see the book-list online, but I'm not sure we will need ALL of those. Thanks!

CCAC Fall 2011
I did mine at the AIU in the Waterfront. It was very quick. I went during the day and was the only one there so it took about 5 minutes. I got fingerprinting done in September for my job. I wonder if they will accept that?! Probably not, but I'll have to ask.

CCAC Fall 2011
I think you are right. CCAC Central must have been acting up because now it is showing that no one is registered yet. Whew, that scared me for a second! Still waiting on my packet. Hope it comes today so I can get started. Busy summer ahead!

CCAC Fall 2011
Thanks for all the info!! Another question... I was looking at CCAC Central at when the nursing courses are (for south), and it looks like people are already registering. For example, one 101 class says there are only 4 seats left, out of 45. I thought we had to make an appointment and register with an advisor for nursing courses. I wonder why it is showing that. Does the packet say anything about registration?

CCAC Fall 2011
Laramyy I didn't get the packet yet! I got my acceptance letter on April 1st, and have been looking for it every day since then. Hopefully tomorrow! I am anxious to see this list of things that need to be done.

Thank you Rovila! That is super helpful. sewnmom... I'm going to wait until the packet comes too. My husband needs CPR too so he may take it with me :)

My head is spinning too! I've been looking into CPR classes, physical, etc. That's a great idea about the ebooks. How does that work exactly? I once had an eBook, but I could only access it by going online. So if I was anywhere without an internet connection, I couldn't get to it. My husband has an iPad but hasn't bought ebooks for classes. Can you actually download them to the iPad and access them anywhere, anytime, even without internet access? If anyone finds any deals on stuff (like where to get a physical, titers, etc) or advice on anything let us know! :redpinkhe

I will be in South Day too!

CCAC Fall 2011
I was wondering why it was so fast. Amber was the one who told be it would be about a month in a half, and it was even less than that! She really is such a helpful person. I am a "returning" student too. I just graduated with a BA in social sciences. I got that because I was interested i nit and had NO CLUE what I wanted to do for a career. But now I am finally settled on nursing :)

CCAC Fall 2011
I just got home, read this thread, and ran to check the mail! I was surprised to see that you all were getting them so soon. Well... I got accepted too!! I was jumping up and down LOL I am so excited :) I will be going to South day. This is pending background checks (I already have them for my job), drug screening, and physical. But I'm sure I will be fine. Congrats everyone!

CCAC Fall 2011
Thanks :) The packet said 2-2.5 months. So that would be anywhere from March 1st until mid March. However, when I dropped off my application I asked when they we will find out and they said 1.5 months, which would be mid April, but I wouldn't count on that. From reading these forums, it seems like they are always late! A month in a half would be great though!

I didn't receive a receipt in the mail. Do you think it is because I hand-delivered my application? They gave me a paper when I left, so I guess that may be the receipt.

CCAC Fall 2011
I just applied too. Good luck everyone!! Let us know when you get your letter :)

CCAC Fall 2011

That's great! I went to two universities as well. I hope mine transfer! Here is what I'm worried about though: I see that in the nursing packet it says that high school biology must have been completed within the last 5 years. I took high school biology in 2004 (got an A). I took Anatomy and Physiology I&II in college in 2006-2007. An advisor told me that I wont need to worry about biology since Anatomy and Physiology are above biology (i.e. biology is a pre-req for A&P). I hope this is true. I don't want to run into any problems with getting accepted!- CCAC Fall 2011
Is anyone transferring credits from another college? I took my co-reqs at another college (I already have a degree). I hope they all transfer. I'm taking the form in tomorrow.- CCAC Fall 2011
I think an 86 is good!! I was reading on here that someone got in the 80's and got in. and 86 means that you did better than 86% of people that take it, so that's great. Plus, all you need is a 50 so you are fine :) I haven't taken the PAX yet, but I am taking it soon. I called and asked about when you get the score report, and they said they print it out for you right then. What this so in your cases (if you took the computer version)? I took the pre-reqs and all of the co-reqs except for Micro and Human Growth and Development. So hopefully having A&P I & II will help me get in. - CCAC Fall 2011
