Going to NYU's 15-month accelerated program
Hi. I graduated from NYU last spring and was in the pediatric dual-degree program. That means that during your senior year there, you have to take at least one master's level class. I took Intro. to Biostatistics. You can take more if you have credits remaining and if you wish to. Then, after graduation, you are automatically accepted into the Master's program for nursing at NYU, as long as you graduate with I think a 3.0. You can start right away, or you can take a year off and continue later. You don't have to take your GRE's and all that. During your last semester, you meet with your master's advisor and plan out your options. dodo, you asked about evening classes. I'm not sure about now, but for the last 4 years, many of the classes, at least the lecture component, were in the evening, at 4:55-7:35. Clinicals are an all day thing, and labs are offered several times a day. Hope this helps!

Going to NYU's 15-month accelerated program
hi.. i just recently graduated from NYU's 4 yr traditional program.. and just to make a few comments: - the ages of the accelerated and 2nd degree students range from 22 to 45, at least in my classes - traditional students from high school, transfer students, 2nd degree students, and 15 month accelerated students are all mixed in together wen it comes to classes, but everyone ends up on a different "track," depending on whether you pass or fail a class, skip a semester, etc. the 15 month-ers speed right along and quickly surpass the other students - clinical placement at NYU is great compared to other schools, at least when I compare it to my friends schools. NYU downtown (tisch), mt sinai, mamonaides in bklyn, montefiore, lij north shore manhasset, ny presbyterian cornell, community based health clinics, these are all the places i've had clinical. and there are a lot more placements all over nyc - yea the scrubs are purple.. i hope everyone is having a good first semester! i kno the 15 month track is intense, but the instructors are great and so are the students. when i graduated, i had never felt so proud of myself and was so glad that i went to NYU.. good luck!
