Glad to hear it! And don't think I do not realise the massive commitment and dedicated work of nurses. I've worked as a care assistant in a nursing home and have worked with nurses on busy wards and I have nothing but respect for them. And in my limited experience one thing I have learnt is that nurses can make the life of a doctor great or absolutely hell :chuckle. That's why I got a bit tetchy when I read the material on this thread because I didn't think it represented the attitutes, the care provided by and the professionalism of the nurses I've been in contact with. But if this, as you say, is indeed purely a way of 'venting' then I can understand that and have no problem with it. Well it was good to visit this site (albeit unintentionally). Mabye I'll get a chance to work with some of you in the future if I end up migrating to the US (I'm from England). :) Good bye and take care, Jerry

Hi Magik Girl, Thanks for your reply and yes, you are certainly entitled to your opinion. However, if practicing as an ER attending really does cause you to write things like "TF BUNDY...TOTALLY FU***ED, BUT UNFORTUNATELY, NOT DEAD YET" on official medical records, then this is really quite a disillusioning thought. Lucky for me then that I will not be in such a situation for quite a while yet. I can't help but think about what the previous person to post had at the end of their message: The soul is dyed the color of its thoughts. Think only on those things that are in line with your principles and can bear the full light of day. The content of your character is your choice. Day by day what you choose, what you think, and what you do is who you become. Your integrity is your destiny -- it is the light that guides your way. But it seems to me that comments like "the public we are speaking of probably can't read anyway" really do undermine our principles, character and integrity. However, I do appreciate the need for light relief from what is undoubtedly a highly stressful situation. Take care, Jerry

Hi, I'm only a medical student but I'm still a little concerned that this thread demonstrates a total lack of respect for patients. Surely it is not right to laugh about comments like TSTL (too stupid to live). We are, afterall, supposed to be a caring profession. I'd hate to think what a member of the public might think if they saw this forum (and I only came here by accident via a google seach result). - Jerry
